College girl hijacked in Sylhet

A student of Sylhet Government women’s College was attacked by hijacker in front of Bondar Bazar on Sylhet City on Sunday. The hijacker snatched her valuable mobile and cash money after attending her BSC test examination. The student returned to mirerchak of Biswanath upazila. She informed that she and one of her fellow walking on foot and coming near kean bridge. On way to TOP some jubinile open there vanity bag and snatched a mobile worth TK 30 Thousand and cash one thousand and fled away. Some small traders confirmed the news. OC kotwali Gousul Hussain said he is searching the matter.
Drug dealer held with phensedyl in Jessore
BENAPOLE: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested an alleged drug dealer along with 850 bottles of phensedyl from Kannadaha village in Sharsha upazila on Wednesday night. Major Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, camp commander of RAB-6, said tipped-off, a team of RAB-6 conducted a drive in the area around 11.30 pm and arrested Abdul Aziz, 34, son of late Anisur Sardar, a resident of Kannadaha village of the upazila. Later, three sacks loaded with 850 bottles of phensedyl were recovered from his possession. Other drug dealers managed to flee the spot sensing the presence of RAB, said the Rab official. The detainee was handed over to Sharsha Police Station. A case was filed under the Narcotics Control Act, reports UNB.
One held with heroin in Chapainawabganj
CHAPAINAWABGANJ : Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested an alleged drug peddler along with 500 gram of heroin from Barorsia Hayater intersection area in Sadar upazila of Chapainawabganj district recently. The arrestee was identified as Md Mahubul alias Kalu, 45, son of Md Alfaz Uddin Biswas of Sultanganj village in Godagari upazila. On secret information, a team of Rab-5 led by camp commander Squadron Leader Syed Abdullah Al Murad, conducted a drive in the area around 1:45 am and arrested Mahubul along with the heroin, said a press release. The elite force also recovered a mobile phone set from his possession. In primary interrogation, Mahubul confessed that he had been involved with drug trading in the area for a long, reports UNB.
Modern mango market to be built
A modern mango market would be constructed at Moharajpur Fielderhat in Sadar Sadar upazila. Meanwhile Lawmaker of Chapainawabganj Sadar constituency M Abdul Wadud laid the foundation stone of the market recently. Sadar upazila engineer ANM Wahiduzzaman said the two storied building on a three storey foundation would be constructed at a cost of Tk over 4.6 crore. The mangoes of the district would be sent to the other districts of the country from here after branding so that the buyers of mango can identify the mangoes of Chapainawabganj easily, he added. During the off season of mangoes this building would be used for other commercial purposes, he further added, reports BSS.
Man crushed under train in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI: A man was crushed under the wheels of a speedy train in Raipara area of Sadar Upazila recently. The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately. Officer-in-charge of Rajpara Police Station Hafizur Rahman said a Chapainawabganj-bound commuter train hit the man at around 1:30pm, leaving him dead on the spot.The body was sent to Rajshahi Medical College for autopsy, the OC added, reports UNB.
