Husband held for hacking wife to death in Gournadi

Police arrested one Abdur Rahman for hacking his wife Mukuli Begum, 45, to death on Saturday morning at Ashukathi under Gournadi upazila of Barisal. Abul Kalam, Gournadi police station officer- in- charge, quoting family sources said, Abdur Rahman was chopping fuel wood at the courtyard and his wife Mukuli Begum was stacking those in the kitchen. At that time husband becoming angry hit wife with axe. Family members rushed to the spot sent Mukuli Begum to Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital. Mukuli Begum died at SBMCH at 11:30 am on Saturday and dead body was sent to morgue for autopsy, informed Dr. Habibur Rahman, Emergency Medical Officer SBMCH.
Hijackers loot salary money in Gazipur

A group of hijackers identified themselves as the member of Detective Branch (DB) looted 72lakh 56 thousand salary money of Naar Sweater Ltd. at Jazar village in Gazipur on Wednesday evening. Joydebpur Thana police arrested 4 persons in this connection. Of them one person Mahbubur Rasid Fakir was shown arrest. OC in Joydebpur police station Khondawker Rezaul Hasan said, Managing Director of the factory Monir Uddin filed the case with Joydebpur thana in this matter. Production Manager of the factory, Alauddin Majnu said, on way to factory from Islami Bank at Uttara by microbus a group of hijackers barricaded microbus and looted the salary money.
Body of farmer recovered in Fakirhat

Dead body of a farmer was recovered by the police from a ditch in Bagerhat on Wednesday morning. The deceased was Md. Golam Rasul Shaikh (50) of village Naldhabag within Naldha-Moubhog Union Under Fakirhat Upazila
Police and the locals informs that on the day at about 7 am his elder son found the dead body floating in the ditch and cried out loudly. On hearing the crying the other members of his family and some locals rushed to the spot and informed the police of the matter. Police of Fakirhat PS reached the place of occurrence, recovered the dead body and sent the same to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital for its autopsy. But the death was shrouded with mysteries.
