The International Anti-Corruption Day was observed by Upazila Anti-Corruption Prevention Committee at Gafargaon Town on Saturday. The programme started at 10 am by hoistening National Flag . UNO DrShamim Rahman and Dr.K.M.Ehsan Advocate , President of Upazila Anti-corruption prevention committee raised the National Flag. The singers of Gafargaon Theatre sang National Anthem. Later , pigeon ,symbol of peace were opened in the open sky by UNO Dr.Shamim Rahman and Dr.K.M.Ehsan Adv. president of the committee. UNO Dr.Shamim Rahman inaugurated mass-signature about International Anti-corruption Day and against corruption programme. To mark the day , Gafargaon Upazila Anti-corruption Prevention Committee arranged a human -chain with the slogan ” Let’s be united against corrupted” Teachers and students from different schools including people of different professions , Govt.officials, Freedom Fighters, local journalists , businessmen, member of Satata Songo , and people from all walks of life part took in this function
World Human Rights Day observed in Saidpur

Rally and gathering were organised on the occasion of the World Human Rights Day in Saidpur of Nilphamari recently. Bangladesh Human Rights Bureau `of Saidpur Unit organised the rally. The rally paraded the main road of Saidpur town. The students of different school and college participated in the rally, Later, the Advisor of the organization Principal Hafizur Rahman, Rabeya Alim, Officer-in-Charge of Saidpur Police Station Shahjahan Pasha, President of the organization Golam Rabbani Liton, General Secretary MA Karim and others spoke in the rally in front of Saidpur Plaza. Earlier, the programme was inaugurated by flying pegion as the symbol of peace.
BGB seizes Indian tea in Jessore

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh seized some 2.5 tonnes of poor quality Indian smuggled tea raiding Amrakhali under Benapole port police station at around 8pm on Monday. Lieutenant Colonel Ariful Hoque, commanding officer, 49 Border Guard Battalion told. The BGB CO told that tipped off the border security force men seizedthe poor quality Indian smuggled tea worth Tk 5 lakh in abandoned condition from Amrakhali area.
The goods were deposited to Benapole customs warehouse after filing a case with the police station.
