School girl electrocuted in Katiadi

A school girl was electrocuted to death in Katiadi upazila of Kishoreganj on Saturday evening. The incident took place at his residence bathroom at Choriakona village in the evening.
he victim was identified as Shamima Akter Choity (14) daughter of Syed Mostak Ahmed of Choriakona village under Katiadi upazila. She was a student of class eight in Katiadi Pilot Girls’ High School. Seminar on Consumers’ Right Protect Law held

Kishoreganj Sadar Upazila Administration organised a seminar on Consumers Rights Protect Law- 2009 at Sadar Upazila Conference room on Monday. Additioanl District Megistrate Alamgir Hosin attended as chief guest while Sadar UNO Abdullah-al-Masud in the chair. It was addressed among others by Md. UP Member held with arms at Gafargaon

 Gafargaon Thana Police arrested Gafargaon UP Member Mukhlesur Rahman alias Khuka (50) with Pistol made in America, including 5 round bullet at Gafargaon under Mymensingh on Monday . He was arrested at Uthuri Bazar Tower More area in this upazila . Besides, police has arrested associates of Khuka namely Liton Mea (45) and Ershad (30). Gafargaon Additional Police Circle Raihanul Islam informed , Khuka has been alleged to deal in illegal arms business for a long time. On the basis of secret information , SI Md.Sumon Mea and SI Monjurul Haque arrested them. Two round bullet with magazine including a foreign pistol and sharpen knife from napkin tied with waist of Khuka, two round bullet from Liton Mea, and one round bullet from Ershad are rescued.

Two-day farmers training ends in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA: A two-day long livelihood training entitled “Cereal Crops and Oil Seed Production” for farmers ended at the training centre of an NGO at Madnerpara in Fulchhari upazila of the district on Tuesday afternoon. Friendship, a reputed voluntary NGO of the country, arranged the training for char farmers of Fulchhari and Sadar upazilas under Good Governance Project with the financial support of Eriks Development Partner of Sweden and Friendship Luxemburg.
 The purpose of the training was to train up the char farmers so they could produce various crops like Boro paddy, Aman paddy, wheat, maize, groundnut, mustard, sesame and linseed properly to achieve country’s food security, said Nazmul Hossain, assistant project manager. Sub assistant agriculture officer at department of agriculture extension (DAE) M. Abdur Rab and Mehedi Hasan conducted the training sessions while project manager of Good Governance project Amdadul Hoque monitored the training on behalf of the organization.
A total of 30 farmers including five women from different chars of the upazilas took part in the training, reports BSS.
