A four daylong income tax fair was started in Narail with the slogan ‘Tax will be increased, country will be Swarnivar’. Adv Sheikh Hafizur Rahman MP inaugurated the fair as Chief Guest on Saturday in the auditorium of Sadar Upazila with Joint Tax Commissioner of Khulna Ganesh Chandra Mandal in the chair . The fair will run from Saturday to Tuesday. Among others Deputy Commissioner Md Emdadul Haque Chowdhury, Superintendent of Police Sardar Rakibul Islam, former Upazila chairman Sharif Humayun Kabir, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Salma Selim, President, Chamber of Commerce Md. Hasanuzzaman, Councilor of Zila Parisad Rowshan Ara Kabir Lilli were present.A total of eight stalls were opened in the fair. The stalls are open from 9am to 5pm daily. Various suggestions will be given on Income Tax related , such as Income Tax TIN number opening , Withdrawal of Return and Payment. Office of the Deputy Tax Commissioner, Narail, organized the fair.
Late Shamsul Haq Memorial Football Tournament inaugurated

Late Shamsul Haq Memorial Football Tournament was started in Saidpur. The tournament was inaugurated at the Railway Ground. Nilphamari District Council Chairman and Freedom Fighter Joynal Abedin inaugurated the tournament as the Chief Guest. The Football Tournament was held in the banner of a player organisation. Syedpur Upazila Parishad Chairman, Moksedul Momin and Nilphamari District Council Member Alhaj Md. Abdul Gafur Sarker was the Special Guest at the inauguration ceremony. Shariful Islam Ripon was the president of the inaugural ceremony. The inaugural ceremony was conducted by Joint General Secretary of Upazila Sports Association Jobaidur Rahman Shaheen.Vice Chairman of Saidpur Upazila Parishad Ajmal Hossain, Syedpur Municipal Panel Mayor -1 Ziaul Huq Zia, Batalgaari UP chairman Helal Chowdhury, Awami League senior Vice-President Ali, former Municipal Councilor Kabir Uddin Yunus, Principal Abdul Mobin and others were present at the opening ceremony. A total of 32 football teams are participating in this tournament.
200 disabled deprived of facilities at a village

Amtoil is the largest village of Bishwanath Upazila in the district. Some 200 disabled live here but they are deprived of all facilities including disability allowances. Bishwanath is known for its people who live in exile. Most of them live in Uk. Amtoil is thickly populated village. Total Population is more than 25 thousand in 3 words. Number of voter 7 thousand. Most are fisherman. It is 7 km away from Bishwanath Upazila headquarter. Number of poor are maximum. Due to unhealthy environment disease is a common factor. It has no sanitation facility, health care. So diarrhea dysentery are common matter. Pregnant women face malnutrition, unhealthy living. So disable children born. It is the opinion of many person. In that village each house has one children disabled. Some family have more disabled infant. Some of them are mental, some are speech and some are gender disabled. If present rate continue Number of disabled will cross thousand with in a few year. local UP. member Abul khair said, Number of disabled increasing day by day. But they are not receive any assistance from the government. Rampasa UP Chairman Advocate Alamgir said, it is thickly populated area. Many have disabled Children.
He want government help for them. Acting Health Officer of Upazila health Complex Dr Yasin Arafat said, During Pregnancy period parent are not alert and malnutrition is main reason. Take doctors advise and health consciousness Otherwise it will increase.
Flood victims receive financial grant in Gaibandha
GAIBANDHA: Some 96 flood affected and river erosion victims of Fulchhari upazila in the district received financial grant of Taka 4.80 lakh from the Ministry of Social Welfare on Sunday. The grant was distributed to the beneficiaries through the upazila administration involving the local government bodies. A simple function was also held at the conference room of upazila administration with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abdul Halim Tolstoy in the chair. Upazila chairman M. Habibur Rahman formally distributed the cheques of grant among the 96 river eroded people of the upazila as the chief guest.
Each of the beneficiaries received Taka 5,000 as grant from the ministry to pass their days without economic trouble. Upazila social services officer Abu Sufian and union parishad chairmen including journalists were present on the occasion. Deputy Director of department of social services M. Amdadul Haque Pramanik said the similar activity was also conducted in other six upazilas of the district, reports BSS.
