JL activist attacked over factional feud in Jessore

A leader of Juba League, youth wing of the ruling party was wounded critically in Jessore town on Thursday evening. The wounded, Mehedi Hasan Runu, 30, activist of Juba League was rushed to Jessore General Hospital with stab wounds. Monirul Islam, cousin of the wounded told that his cousin was attacked by some miscreants led by an influential Awami League leader at Churamankathi Bazar at around 7pm on Thursday. Mohith Kumar Nath, president, Jessore sadar upazila unit Awami League told journalists that the influential AL leader played role in the attack. Income Tax Fair begins in Kishoreganj

The week long Income Tax Fair- 2017 kicked off in distric on Thursday at Kishoregnaj Cricle Office premise and other parts of the country on Wednesday with a revenue collection target of more than Tk. 3000 crore and to facilities individual tax-payers to complete tax related procedures including filing of tax returs. Zila Parished Chairman Advocate Md. Zillur Rahman inaugurating the fair. A discussion meeting was held at its office complex with Senior Assistant Commissioner Ekramul Haque in the chair. It was addressed among others by Poura Mayor Md. Perez Miah as special guest, Assistant Commissioner of Taxes Sadek Hossain, Senior Advocate Mahamudul Islam Janu, Tax Bar President Advocate Ruhul Quddes Selim, Advocate Monsur Alam Bulbul, District Pres Club President Mostafa Kamal, Former Press Club President A.K. Nasim Khan, Sanak Ex. President Senior Journalist Saiful Hoque Mollah Dulu, CAB President Alam Sarowar Tito, Press Club Secretary Saiful Malek Chowdhury. Senior Assistant Commissioner Ekramul Haque said that NBR has a plan to give each taxpayer a pin code-tax payment. Pin-to indentified the taxpayers. This year the NBR is holding the fair at all divisional cities, districts and 102 upazilas.
Relief distributed among flood victims in Manikganj
MANIKGANJ:Turkish International Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) today distributed 300 metric tons of rice and other food grains among 1000 flood-affected families in Harirampur upazila of the district. On the occasion, a function was held at Harirampur upazila auditorium on Friday morning. Folk singer Momtaj Begum, MP, took part in the function as the chief guest while Advocate Golam Mohiuddin, Chairman of Manikganj Zila Parishad, was present as the special guest. Arefin Rejwan, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO), Harirampur, Iftekhar Hossain, Executive Director of Alokito Bangladesh Foundation, Md. Guljar Hossain, President of Harirampur Upazila Awami League and Dewan Abdur Rouf, Secretary of Upazila AL were present. TIKA distributed rice and other food items, including pulse, oil, sugar and salt, among the flood victims of Harirampur, reports BSS.
