A 3-day bicycle rally with the slogan ‘Save bird, save nature’ has started on Tuesday. Saidpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (Acting) Parimal Kumar Sarkar formally inaugurated the programme on Tuesday morning . At that time Saidpur Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge AKM Lutfar Rahman, Members of the organization ‘Setubondhon’ and journalists were present. According to the members of the organization the three-day cycle journey will reach Panchagarh at Bangabandha Zero point after covering Dinajpur Dashmile and Thakurgaon. They will distribute leaflets to create awareness about the protection of birds and nature.
‘Ras Utsab’ begins in Monipuri villages today

Ras Utsab is the main festival of the Monipuri society. The Moha Ras Lila festival of the Manipuri community of Kamalganj Upazila in Moulvibazar district will start on today (November 2 ) for three days . People thronged the festival venue and will enjoy the nightlong programmes. This is the 175th celebration. The festival is held each year during Purnima (full moon), between the Bangla months of late Kartik and early Agrahayan. This year, around one lakh people from across the country gathered at the Monipuri populated Madhabpur and Adampur villages of Kamalganj. The message of the Moha Ras Lila is “Peace, harmony and humanism”. According to the organizers, Raja Bhagyachandra, king of Monipur was introduced first. Moulvibazar “Jora Mondop” (Manipuri temple) of Madhabpur village began Mela in 1842 outside of Monipur. All of Monipuri families are working to clean their houses to welcome Ras Utsab. To celebrate the festival celebration, rural youth plays the vital the role- said Hemonto Kumar Singha, member secretary of Adampur Moharas Lila Udjapon committee. The occasion gives immense pleasure among the Monipuri in every family.
View exchange meet on anti-corruption held at Gafargaon

This meeting was held at the office of Ulama Samiti adjacent to Gafargaon Railway Station. Hafej Mawlana Nurul Islam ,president of Gafargaon Ulama Samiti presided over the view exchange meeting. Dr.K.M.Ehsan Advocate ,president of Gafargaon Upazila Anti-corruption Committee was the chief guest. Gafargaon Upazila Anti-corruption committee ,General Secretary Md.Rafiqul Basar conducted the meeting.
