Plantation of palm tree seeds on the both sides of the roads and embankment in all the six upazilas of the district is going on satisfactorily . Deputy Commissioner, Narsingdi Dr Subash Chandra Biswas being instructed from Prime Minister office for plantation plam tree seeds in the country urged the district and upazilas officers in a meeting for planting of palm tree seeds in all the six upazillas of the district. Accordingly the district administration took an initiative to planted over 60,000 palm tree seeds in the district (10,000 in each upazila) and advised the UNO and other officials to plant palm seeds enthusiasm.
Youth held with Yaba at Avoynagor in Jessore

Avoynagor station police arrested a youth and seized 500 pieces yaba and two kilograms of ganza raiding his residence at Isamoti village of suvorara union under Avoynagor upazila at around 4:15 am on sunday. The arrestee is Kalam Mollah (37) son of Kayem Mollah of Isamoti village under Avoynagor upazila in Jessore. Confirming the information, S I Rowson of Avoynagor police station told that raiding the residence of Kalam Mollah the police made the arrest and recovered 500 pieces yeaba and two kilograms of ganza from his possession.
Design of Saidpur Municipali Community Centre approved

Saidpur Municipality is going to build a luxurious Community Center of municipal people. The full air conditioned 5 storied building with all modern and decorated facilities will be constructed at about Tk 13 cr . The fund will be provided by World Bank, according to sources. A view exchange meeting held recently at the conference room of Saidpur Municipality with the presence of people of political sector, businessmen, Journalists and others, arranged by the Mayor of Saidpur Municipality Md. Amjad Hossain Sarker. With the opinion of every one present in the meeting, the design of the Community Center has been approved and it will be sent to the divisional office in Dhaka with other papers, according to the Mayor. Chairman of Saidpur Upazila Md. Moksedul Momin, WomanVice Chairman Rownak Jahan Rinu , Zila Parishid Member Alhaj Abdul Gafur Sarker, Journalist Shakir Hossian Badal, Panel Mayor Ziaul Haq Zia, leader of workers Party Ruhul Alam and other presented their opinion regarding the design and the construction of the Municipal Community Center.
