Decomposed dead body of a young man recovered

A decomposed dead body of a young man (30) was recovered by the police from a cremation place near C & B Bazar under Bagerhat Sadar Upazila on Monday in the after noon. Hands, legs and eyes of the man were tied with ropes and a piece of cloth.It is reported that on the day in the morning getting the bad smell local people went to the cremation place and found a dead body there and informed the police of the matter. Police went to the spot and recovered the dead body. It is guessed that the man was, perhaps, killed by some one few days ago and the dead body was thrown there.

BGB seizes arms, ammo in Benapole

Border Guard Bangladesh personnel in a raid seized a pistol, a magazine and one round of bullet in an abandoned condition at Baropota under Benapole port police station.
The raid was made at around 12:45 am on Wednesday, said Lt Col Matiur Rahman, director, 26 Border Guard Battalion.
The BGB official told New Nation that tipped off the BGB men raided an area at Baropota under Benapole frontier and seized the arms and ammunition. None was arrested in this connection.

RAB nabs one with counterfeit notes in Satkhira

SATKHIRA: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a young man in possession of 50 fake notes of Tk1,000 denomination from Kachua area in Ashashuni upazila on Tuesday night.The arrestee was identified as Sahabuddin,30, son of Atiar Sardar, a resident of the village.Assistant superintendent of police Kazimur Rashid, commanding officer of RAB-6, said on secret information, a team of the elite force conducted a drive in the area and arrested Sahabuddin along with 50 fake notes of Tk 1,000 denomination at about 11:30 pm. RAB filed a case against him with Ashashuni Police Station, reports UNB.

3 Sylhet JCD men land in jail

A court in Sylhet turned down the bail petitions of three activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) and sent them to jail in a case for killing auto-rickshaw driver Soyed on Tuesday. Judge of Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Court-3 Anwarul Haque passed the order when the three accused surrendered before the court and sought bail. A group of JCD activists beat up Soyed and vandalised his auto-rickshaw in Silam union of South Surma upazila during a hartal enforced by the then 18-party opposition alliance, led by BNP, on December 5, 2013, leaving him seriously injured.
Later Soyed was rushed to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries in the evening on December 6, 2013.

Indian spice, pick-up recovered in Kurigram

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered 760 kilograms of Indian zira (spice) from Kurigram Zilla Parishad office premises on Tuesday night. BGB sources said acting on tip-off, a BGB team led by Commanding Officer (CO) of 45 battalion took shelter near Dharla Bridge point under Kurigram municipality at night on 3:30 am on Tuesday. A pick-up van was coming with Indian spice into Kurigram town from Nageswari upazila. The pick-up van crossed the bridge with rush at while the BGB men gave signal to stop the van.
