Tornado sweeps over Jessore villages

Establishments of several villages under Bagharpara upazila in Jessore were damaged in a 30-second tornado on Wednesday evening. A number of thatched houses of Paker Ali, Sreerampur, Ramnagar and Charabhita villages under Bashuari union council, Dohakola Purbapara, Chhaibaria and Sukhdebnagar of Dohakola union council and Dashpakhia and Agra village under Dhalgram union council were damaged in the devastating tornado, locals said. Kamruzzaman Liton of Paker Ali village told journalists that his thatched house was badly damaged in the 30- second tornado that lashed over the area with fireballs and smokes. Houses owned Sharif Khan, Sohel Khan, Tofazzal Hossain, Inamul Sarder, Motalib Hossain, Jahangir Alam, Harun Mandol, Nasir Hossain, Atiar Rahman, Arif Hossain, Tariqul Islam, Afsar Ali and Abdul Wazed were seen badly damaged by journalists. Abu Talem Dafader, chairman, Dohakola union council told journalists that he visited several damaged residences under his union council.
One missing in Kurigram

A group of fisherman went to the Dharla River to catch fish at Kolakhawa area under Phulbari upazila in Kurigram district on Thursday and one of them was missing. He was identified as Abu Bakar 50 son of late Akbar Ali of village Kobir Mamud under the upazila. Local sources said the group was catching fish in the river and at one stage Ekramul Haque, the cousin of Abu Bakar found that his brother was not found. Hearing the news his relatives and neighbor rushed to the bank of the river. They did not find the missing man after a long search. The neighbor Moksedul Alam told that many people searched him spreading fishing net and dropped into water but his body was not found, Phulbari Sadar union parishad chairman Harun-ur-Rashid confirmed the incident.

Founding anniv of S RP atwari Quality Educare Instt held

The 9th anniversary of S R Patwari Quality Educare Institute was held on Thursday in Baraigram Upazila of Natore . On the occasion, a rally, a discussion meeting and a cultural function were held. Upazila Chairman and Director of the Institute Dr Md Siddikur Rahman Patwari presided over the meeting. Natore Zilla Parishad, Chairman Adv Md Sajedur Rahman Khan was present as a chief guest. Also, Zilla Parishad Members Abu Bokkor Siddik, Abul Kalam Azad, Bonpara Pouro Councilors Mohith Kumar Sarker and Moyez Uddin were present as special guests. The chief guest Adv. Md Sajedur Rahman Khan handed over two laptops to Dr. Md Siddikur Rahman Patwari. It was also addressed among others by Pouro Councilors Sharifunnessa Shirin and Razia Sultana.
