An educational institution in a remote village lits the light of education and spreading awareness against social vices like child marriage and thus draws attention of government and non-government organizations to be rewarded. The institution is uttor Chawra Borogasa School and College situated at chawra borogasa union, 17 km away from Nilphamari district town. It is the best educational institution in sador upazila as selected in recently concluded national education week, 2016, said Ahmed Ahsan Habib, upazila education officer. Recently, it is also awarded as best institution and the present principal as pioneer for spreading education among girls and creating awareness against early marriage in sador upazila jointly by intl NGO Lamb and Plan under a project entitled ‘I’m power project’, he added. The institution was established by one benevolent man Abu Bakkar Siddique on 2.46 acore land at the fag end of last century but it couldn’t achieve goal due to inaccibility. But it started flourishing from 2011 after the present principal Md Shahidul Islam joined here as head of the institution. ” Now there are 570 students in school and 405 students in college and of them fifty percent are girls and the pass rate in SSC and HSC is 80%-90% in average,” he added. Harun ur Rashid, a prominent student’s guardian said that there is a complain box in front of principal’s office where students can drop complain about their problems. Rubel Islam, a class 12 student said, ” Most students are weak in english and to remove this weakness special coaching classes are taken for them after school hour daily.” Doli Roy, a class-9 student said that alongside teaching, school authority encourages girl students to say no to early marriage and hence married girl student is seldom found here. CBA leader convicted by mobile court

A mobile court headed by Nizam Uddin, Executive Magistrate of Bagerhat, in a judgment delivered on Thursday at noon, convicted Jasim Hawladar (33), a 3rd class employee of Western Zone Power Distribution Company (WZPDCO) Ltd., Bagerhat and General Secretary of its CBA and sentenced him to suffer simple imprisonment for 1.5 years and to pay a fine of Tk.50 thousand in default to suffer another imprisonment for 3 months more on the charge of giving illegal power connections to a number of business enter prizes and private houses of Bagerhat district town. He is a son of one Kuddus Hawladar of Gobordia area of the district town.
90 -year old school governmentised in Jessore

The 90-year old Nawapara Shankarpasha Secondary School is finally declared a government owned institution. The government’s order concerning the declaration reached the school on august 23, said Sunil Das, assistant teacher of the institution on Thursday.A joyful atmosphere blew over the institution after the school authority gets the government’s official order being signed by the president on Thursday, said Shahidul Islam, headmaster, Nawapara Shankarpasha Secondary School. Established in 1927, Nawapara Shankarpasha Secondary School has become a famous institution at the area for its teaching and teaching and other contributions to the society when there were a few such institution nearby the area. The institution is situation at the heart of Nawapara industrial town, said eminent educationist and resident of the area Professor Sheikh Muhammad Abdul Gaffar.This was the last step for any such institution to be a government owned institution, Assistant Teacher SM Faruk Ahamed told the New Nation.
133 families brought under power network in Chandpur
CHANDPUR: A total of 133 families of Balithuba village under Faridganj upazila of the district were brought under rural electrification network by Chandpur Palli Bidyut Samity (CPBS-2). Dr Shamsul Haque Bhuiyan MP inaugurated the electrification programme at a simple function held at the village, reports BSS.
