3 injured in Rajshahi road mishap

Three people including children were injured as a bus pushed a rickshaw in the Paba Tooltuli Para area near Rajshahi city on Friday. The passenger bus hit the rickshaw while going to Chapainawabganj from Rajshahi. The incident took place at around 8:30 pm on Friday night. The rickshaw turned down and three sailors including children were injured. All of the injured are relatives of SATV’s Rajshahi Correspondent Ziaul Ghani Selim. The injured were identified as Salim’s mother-in-law Taslima Begum (50), sister-in-law Farhana (27) and daughter of sister-in-law Ayesha Manna (2). They were admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital. Journalist Selim told of the injured Farhana that on Friday afternoon, three people, including her mother-in-law and sister-in-law, came to visit her home. Then at eight o’clock they were returning to the house of Paba Toolului, adding a rickshaw.
Cheque distributed for mosques, mondirs

Local MP Fahmi Golandaz Babel has distributed cheque among 58 mosques, mondirs and graveyard for repairing work donated by the Religious Ministry on Wednesday. Upazila Administration arranged the programme at Shilpokola Academy on Wednesday . During that hours he requested the elite persons of the society, and Alim Society to keep their sons aloof from ,militancy and taking drugs. He also urged the Alim Society so that the youth can keep away from bad habit and they do not engage themselves by misusing of wrong explanation of religion. UNO Dr,Shamim Rahman presided over the meeting. .Upazila Parishad chairman Asraf Uddin Badal . Pouro Mayor S M Ikbal Hossain Sumon , Pouro AL President Abdul Halim Manik , Upazila vice- chairman Moniruzzaman, Mohila vice-chairman Reshma Akter were also present in the meeting. Religious Affairs Ministry donated Tk 16 lakh ,20 thousand among mosque .mondirs and graveyard for repairing work through 58 cheque. Then people from different walks of life thanked and expressed gratitude to MP Fahmi Golandaz Babel.
Workshop on nutritional improvement in Sylhet region held

Speakers at a workshop in Sylhet on Tuesday stressed on coordinated efforts by government workers, elected bodies and others for success in the activities for nutritional improvement in Sylhet region, which had been in a poor state in this regard for long. Besides, they sought media cooperation for raising the awareness on the rural areas. Director, Health, Sylhet division Md. Ismail Faruk addressed as the chief guest in the event held at the Sylhet Press Club. ICDDRB’s Associate Scientist Nuzhat Chowdhury spoke on the ‘Nutritional Scenario in Bangladesh’ while Manager, Livelihoods, of ‘Suchana’ spoke on the 7-year programme, initiated in Sylhet region and its Deputy Programme Director Mohammad Ali Reja addressed on ‘raising awareness for nutritional improvement involving media’ and Sylhet Press Club president Ikramul Kabir chaired. A good number of media personnel joined the workshop. The event was told the 6-year special programme styled ‘Suchana’ was started in 2016 in the districts of Sylhet and Moulvibazar with a view to improving the nutritional status of the children and mothers, since the whole Sylhet region had been in a poor state. Alongwith 7 other local and international organisions, the ‘Save the Children’ had been assisting the programme in support of the Health department.
