JL activists attack former MP’s motorcade in Kushtia

At least 10 people, including BNP’s central committee member and former MP of Kushtia-2 constituency Prof Shahidul Islam, were injured in an attack in the district on Wednesday.
The attackers also vandalized the private car used by Shahidul Islam and four motorcycles during the attack.It is learnt that a group of leaders and workers of Jubo Awami League, the youth wing, of ruling Awami League attacked former MP MdShahidul Islam on the distribution of member forms at Mirpurupazila BNP office in Kushtia.The attack was carried out at 12 am on Wednesday, while theforms for members of BNP were distributing the in Mirpur Upazila’s BNP office.The injured are the president of BNP of irpurupazilaAlhaj Abdul Haque, general secretary Rahmat Ali Rabbani, Mirpur pour BNP president AbdurRasid and 10 others. They were given first aid. According to local sources and witnesses, the procession for new party members of BNP was going under the supervision of Prof Shahidul Islam at MirpurUpazila BNP office.
Motorbike used in converted homoeopath doc killing seized from pond

Police in Jhenaidah seized the motorbike and sword used for slaughtering the converted homoeopathic physician Khawaja Samir Uddin after 18 months of the killing incident yesterday . The accessories were seized as per the confessional statement of an arrested Islamic Chhatra Shibir activist Enamul Haque, said the police sources. Jhenaidah Sadar police station officer in charge Amdadul Haque Shaikh said, acting on formation they conducted drive at a pond at Defolbaria village of same police station and seized the items. The lone arrested accused in the killing mission of an Hindu religious priest Ananda Gopal Ganguli case, also an activists of Islamic Chhatra Shibir Enamul Haque in his confessional statement to the police and the court admitted that he was involved in the killing incident of physician Khawaja Samir Uddin on January 7 last year when the converted was staying at his chamber in the afternoon.

The National Fisheries Week- 2017 began on Wednesday with the basic objectiv to make the country self sufficient in fish. The theme of the years Fish week is “Nirapad Machhe Vorbo Desh, Bodle Debo Bangladesh. (Cultivate safe fish, change Bangladesh) Kishoreganj District Administration and Fisheries Department jointly arranged many programmes to observe the week including raising public awareness in fish cultivation. A discussion meeting on cultivate safe fish, change Bangladesh held at Local Co-operatve Community Center in the town on Wednesday. Deputy Commissioner Md. Azimuddin Biswas attented as chief guest while District Fisheries Oficer Md. Aminul Islam in the chair. It was addressed among others by ADC (General & D.S) Torafder Akhter Jamil, Sanak President Professor M.A. Gani, Disrict Press Club President Mostafa Kamal, Senior Fisheres Offier Tofayel Ahamed, Tanvir Ahamed Pavel and Ishak Bhuiyan. A colourfull rally was brought out in the town led by D.C Md. Azimuddin Biswas.
