Training on public relations ends at BRU

A three-day training workshop on public relations and development communication has been ended at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur. The workshop started on Thursday and has been continued today till 3pm. Professor Dr. Md. Nazmul Haque, Dept. of Bangla and Director of Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), attended the concluding ceremony of this program as chief guest. Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam Head of the Department Mass Communication and Journalism presided the event. The public relations, information and publication division of the university organized the training program. The chairman of Journalism and Information Research Unique Foundation Dr, Aliur Rahman was as the main performer in the three-day training workshop. Assistant Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism, Tabiur Rahman Prodhan was coordinating the workshop. The members of the Proctorial body of the University, members of the Public Relations, Information and Publications Divisions, officials of the Vice Chancellors office, teachers of different departments and the members of the University Journalists’ Association are taking part in the training workshop as trainees.
Man held with 600 Yaba pills
MUNSIGANJ: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a drug trader along with 600 pieces of Yaba tablets from Koykitton village in Sreenagar upazila on Saturday afternoon. Acting on secret information, a Rab team conducted a drive at the village and arrested Faruk Hawaladar, 25, son of Rafiq Hawaladar, said company commander of Rab-11 Nahid Hasan Jony. Rab personnel also recovered 600 pieces of Yaba pills and Tk 14,340 from his possession, said Nahid, reports UNB.
2 firearms found in mosque’s toilet
JESSORE: Police have recovered a Sten gun and a shotgun, both beset with rust and seemingly out of order, from the roof of a mosque toilet at Digholia in Abhoynagar upazila. Police said locals spotted the two firearms wrapped in polythene on the rooftop of the Digholia Pashchimpara Mosque toilet in the afternoon and informed police.Later, a team of Abhoynagar Police Station rushed in and recovered the out-of-order firearms.Police suspect the arms may date back to the Liberation War era, after which they were kept under lock-and-key or buried under soil . that the arms were kept under soil after using in the liberation war. Any person found the arms while digging soil today (Wednesday) and kept those on the toilet rooftop for avoiding trouble, said police, adding that the arms loss those effectiveness for rusting, reports UNB.
