RU library gets new administrator

Prof Dr. Subhash Chandra Sil of accounting and information systems department was appointed as the administrator of Rajshahi University Central Library. RU vice chancellor Professor Abdus Sobhan appointed him to the post on Sunday. Professor Subhash replaced Professor Shafiqunnabee Samadi of Bangla Department. Earlier, Professor Shafiqunnabee Samadi resigned from the post on June 14 following the allegation of corruption into a Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project.
Monirampur Pourashava observs pen stoppage

On demand of getting salary and other benefits from Government’s Revenue Found, Bangladesh Pourashava Kormokarta-Karmachari Association, Monirampur Pourashava Unit observed one hour pen stoppage om Monday. The Association every Monday they will obverse the pen stoppage programme till divisional meeting scheduled to be held on July 8 of 2017 at Jhinadha Pourashava.

The new executive committee of Gafargaon 85′ social Organisation followed by Eid Re-union has been formed on 27 th June at its own office at Gafargaon under Mymensingh. Gafargaon 85′ Social Organization is basically a friendly and non-political organization. This organization plays a vital role to remove illiteracy , corruption , terrorism , militancy , early marriage from the society. It also plays an important role in national and International day such International Mother Language Day, Independence Day, Victory Day . It focuses on the 1st Pohela Baishakh displaying our own cultural identity to the young generation . In the meantime it has earned popularity to take part in various social and cultural activities. It keeps much contribution to education sector to encourage the learners giving education stipend. It has given health service to the distressed , ailing poor people in the society. It has given the disabled , handicapped people wheel chair, cash-money and creates people to be self-employed . On Tuesday noon at Gafargaon 85′ social Organization office the Executive committee has been formed through election . Distinguished businessman Md. Abdul Hamid Bachhu and Arshad Ahmed Asad has been elected president and General Secretary respectively. Organising Secretary Md. Mukhlesur Rahman Manik and Anil Roy treasurer have been elected . Dr Mujibur Rahaman , Prof Alamgir Kabir andd Adv Saiful Islam conducted the election as Election Commissioners. Later, the full committee will be formed.
Yaba trader held in Sylhet

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested an alleged drug dealer along with 306 pieces of Yaba tablets from Kadamtoli area in Dakhshin Surma upazila on Friday. The arrestee was identified as Md Shahed Ali, 22, son of late Suruj Ali, a resident of Moskapur village in Golapganj upazila. Moin Uddin Chowdhury, senior assistant superintendent and also senior assistant director (Media) of Rab-9, said that on secret information, a team of Rab conducted the drive in the area around 4:00 pm and arrested Shahed along with the Yaba tablets worth TK one lakh.
