Eid re-union celebrated in Bogra Zilla School

Eid re-union of 1999 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) batch was celebrated here in the Bogra Zilla school premise with befitting manner on Thursday. The function was presided over acting headmistress Umme Yakut Ara Ferdaous while deputy commissioner Nur-e-Alom Siddeque speaking in the function as chief guest. A colorful rally, participated formers pupil, present students, teachers and government service holders, was brought out from the school play ground and paraded main roads of the town in the morning in a happy environment. The1999 bath passe the day arranging revolutionary rural Lathy Khela, planting tree and other charming playing while hundreds of audience gathered in the area. Cultural personality Alok and captain of Bangladesh test match Musfikur Rahim were also present among others in the function.
Six Shibir men held in Bogra

Police in a drive arrested six activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, from Satcom Agro Park in Sherpur upazila of the district on Thursday.The arrestees were identified as Shahadat Hossain, 18, son of Shahjahan, Nahid Hasan, 22, son of Zahirul Islam, Masud Rana, 20, son of Abdul Hye, Manirul Islam, 23, son of Fazlur Rahman, Aslam, 22, son of Yunus Ali, and Nazmul Hossain, 20, son of Shahidul.Tipped off, a team of police raided in the area and arrested them while holding a clandestine meeting at noon, said Khan Mohammad Erfan officer-in-charge of Sherpur Police Station.All of them were arrested on charge of taking preparation for sabotage activities.
Chuadanga schoolboy dies falling off merry-go-round
CHUADANGA: A schoolboy died after falling off a merry-go-round at the Police Park in the district town on Friday. The deceased was identified as Ridu, 14, a student of Chuadanga Government GJ High School and son of Imtiaz Hossain Ujjal of Panir Tankpara in the town. Witnesses said Ridu along with his friends went to the park in the afternoon and rode the roundabout. However, he skidded off the ride, leaving him injured critically. The schoolboy was taken to Sadar Hospital where doctors declared him dead, said officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Tozammel Hossain. Kaniz Fatema, a physician of the hospital, said the boy died due to excessive bleeding from his head, reports UNB.
Yaba trader held in Sylhet
SYLHET: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested an alleged drug dealer along with 306 pieces of Yaba tablets from Kadamtoli area in Dakhshin Surma upazila on Friday. The arrestee was identified as Md Shahed Ali, 22, son of late Suruj Ali, a resident of Moskapur village in Golapganj upazila. Moin Uddin Chowdhury, senior assistant superintendent and also senior assistant director (Media) of Rab-9, said that on secret information, a team of Rab conducted the drive in the area around 4:00 pm and arrested Shahed along with the Yaba tablets worth TK one lakh. Later, the arrestee was handed over to Dakhshin Surma Police Station, reports UNB.
5 idols vandalised in Gazipur  
GAZIPUR: Miscreants damaged five idols of Hindu god and goddess at a house at Chapair village in Kaliakoir upazila early Friday. Local people said unidentified miscreants entered the house of Shanti Gopal Pal, an idol-maker, in the dead of night and vandalised five idols. When Shanti Gopal entered the room on Friday morning he found five idols damaged. On information, police visited the spot, reports UNB.
