Farewell to retired engineers of Education Engineering Depat held

A farewell ceremony of the retired engineers of Education Engineering Department was held in Rangpur yesterday . Education Engineering Department Rangpur Zone organised the farewell ceremony at Shishu Academy Hall Room in the city. Education Engineering Department Rajshahi zone Superintendent Engineer Shamsul Huda attended the function as the chief gust.Among others Executive Engineer of Education Engineering Department Rangpur zone, Delwar Hossain Majumdar, Executive Engineer of Education Engineering Department Dinajpur zone, Mizanur Rahman, sub-assistant engineer, Abu Taher, sub-assistant engineer Abdus Salam addressed the ceremony.
3 Jamaat-Shibir men arrested in Kishoreganj

Law enforcement agencies arrested 3 Jamaat-Shibir activities at Mohinanda area in Kishoreganj Sadar on Thursday. Police also recovered laptop, hand bills, CD, Poster, mobile phone. The arrested person were indentified as Md. Mustafizur Rahman (30), president of Islami Chhatro Shibir Kishoreganj District Committee, Md. Masud Ahmed (25) President of Poura Committee and Mostakim Billal (27), President of Mohinanda Union Chatro Shibir. On secret information, Police raided Shibir leader’s Billal house. They were secretly meeting.
Khandakar Showkat Jahan Officer-in-charge of Kishoreganj Model Police Station said that, the arrested Shibier activities were involved anti-state activities. They were sent to Kishoreganj district jail.
New luxury hotel to be set up in Sylhet

A 210-room hotel will be set up in Sylhet city area. Movenpick Hotels & Resorts will open the hotel in the third quarter of 2018. It operates over 80 properties, including hotels, resorts and Nile cruisers, with another 30 resorts planned or under construction across the Middle East and Asia. World Red Cross Day celebrated in Gaibandha
GAIBANDHA: World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day-2017 was celebrated in the district as elsewhere in the country and the globe yesterday with the theme ‘Everywhere for Everyone’. Marking the day, Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), district unit, in cooperation with DRR Wash project funded by Swiss Red Cross, chalked out the elaborate programmes that included hoisting of national and organizational flags, bringing out rally and documentary film display. Apart from it, a discussion meeting was also held on the importance of the day at the auditorium of Public Library and Club of the town here on Monday morning with chairman of BDRCS, district unit, and also chairman of Gaibandha Zila Parishad Ataur Rahman Ata in the chair. Superintendent of police (SP) M. Masrukur Rahman Khaled attended the function as the chief guest and mayor of Gaibandha Municipality Advocate Shah Masud Jahangir Kabir Milon were present as the special guests, reports BSS.
