View exchange meet on anti-corruption held

A view exchange meeting was held at Datter Bazar UP Office at Pagla Thana under Gafargaon recently . Upazila Anti-corruption Committee office-bearers and Datter Bazar Union Parishad Chairman and his members, public representatives and local elite at Gafargaon took part in the view exchange meeting recently. The view exchange meeting was held to create awareness against corruption among people from all walks of life attended the meeting.Mst.Rukhsana Begum Chairman , Datter Bazar Union presided over the view exchange meeting. Dr.K.M.Ehsan Advocate,president of Gafargaon Upazila Anti-corruption Committee was the chief guest in the meeting. Rafiqul Basar.General Secretary of Upazila Anti-corruption Committee conducted the meeting. Ajim Uddin Master, Sultan Ahmmad, Golam Mahmud Faruki H.Kabir Titu,member of upazila anti-corruption committee, Nirupoma Debnath ,Vice-president of the committee , DatterBazar Union Awamileague President Md.Shahan Shah Khan Bulbul, General Secretary Md.Jalal Uddin, UP member Liton Mea, and UP Chairman Mst.Rukhsana Begum delivered their speeches.
Bidi workers form human chain in Jessore

Several hundreds bidi workers formed a human chain in front of Jessore Press Club protesting at the speech of the finance minister in which the minister expressed that the government is considering to shut bidi factories of the county by next two years. In a rally held during the human chain, the bidi workers told that some 24 lakh bidi employees, most of whom are females, are in fear to lose their jobs. They urged the government to reconsider its thinking. Abdur Rahman, Nasir Uddin and Abdul Hye spoke in the rally.

The Khulna divisional conference of freedom fighters was held at the ground of Jessore Zila School on Sunday noon. Brigadier General (Retd ) Mahmudul Haque, Vice- chairman, central command council; Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad chaired the conference. Major General (Retd ) Helal Morshed Khan, chairman, central command council was the chief guest where local freedom fighters took part.
