Two bakeries fined in Jessore

The mobile court led by executive magistrate Abdullah -Al- Mahfuz has fined Tk 16,000 to two bakeries – Siddique Bakery and Sako Snacks at Daratana area in Jessore town on Wednesday. Siddique Bakery was filed Tk 10,000 while the other Tk 6,000 for not using labels on food packets which contains date of expiry, magistrate Abdullah -Al- Mahfuz said. The bakeries were raided at around 11:30am on Wednesday.
National Science, Tech Week obseved in Narsingdi

Highlighting enormous aspects of expanding science education towards building digital Bangladesh, Deputy Commissioner Narsingdi Dr Shubash Chandra Biswas has called for giving highest importance to it in country’s advancement journey. He said this is the high time to build science- based skilled and knowledge based human resources to take the nation forward as science education could be effective means of building competent and skilled human resources. Deputy Commissioner said this while addressing as chief guest the inaugural ceremony of tow day science and technology week at Narsingdi Ideal High School Ground on Tuesday organized by Narsingdi District Administration and National Science and Technology Museum. Presided over by Additional District Magistrate Mozzamal Hoque, the inaugural function was addressed principal of Narsingdi Women College Prof Mohiuddin as special guest. Monzil- E -Millat, Headmaster (Acting) of Narsingdi Ideal High School gave welcome speech. Among others, Executive Magistrate Masudul Hoque, District Education Officer Harun-or Rashid Sarker and Sadar Upazila Education officer Shamima Aktar Banu addressed the function.
Seed, fertilizers distributed in Baraigram

Seeds and fertilizers were distributed at free of cost among 200 marginal farmers in Baraigram under Natore district on Wednesday. On the occasion, a meeting was held at Upazila Auditorium. Upazila Agriculture Officer Iqbal Ahmed presided over the meeting. Member of Parliament (MP) of Natore-4 seat Md Abdul Kuddus was present as Chief Guest and Upazila Chairman Dr Siddikur Rahman Patwari was present as a special guests. It was also addressed among others by Principal Abdur Razzak Mollah, Baraigram Thana Officer in Charge (OC) Md Shahrier Khan, former UP Chairman Mohibur Rahman, Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal. Each farmer got 5 kg seed, fertilizers UREA 20 kg, MP 10 kg, DAP10 kg free of cost.
BAU SSF feud leaves 5 injured at BAU

At least five men of Socialist Students Front (SSF), the student wing of Socialist Party of Bangladesh (SPB), has been injured on Friday as the clash among two factions continue for the second day over taking control of the party office on the campus. Sources said, a clash took place on Friday at around 09:00am while the activists of SSF (SPB) went for breakfast in a food shop in front of SSF party office. At least 3 men of SSF (SPB) and 2 men of SSF (SPB Marxist) was injured in the clash. Among the injured men of SSF (SPB) faction two of them are not student of the university but they claimed these two were came here to join a regional meeting on the campus. SSF (SPB Marxist)BAU Unit President Rafiquzzaman Farid said , SSF (SPB) activists tried to lock up Library of the party office and our men were injured to pledge them. We gave a written allegation to proctor office. About the incident SSF (SPB) BAU unit presidentSourav das said, we stand down because the university authority assured us to solve the matter. But they my men injured while they went for a breakfast, he added.
