Free Medical Camp held in Bogra

A free medical camp was held on the eve of Bangle New Year 1424 on the 15th of April, 2017 at Subil High School premise in Bogra town organized by ‘Shapnashowa’ an online helping organization. Dr. Md. Samir Hussein allies Mishu, Joint Secretary of Bogra Medical Association (BMA) and also Bogra Shadar upazila health and family planning officer inaugurated the camp being the chief guest. About 200 persons were given free health service and advice by some renowned, experienced and specialist doctors. A colourful Rally and discussion meeting was held on the occasion. No 02 word councilor of Bogra Municipality Md. Towhidul Islam Bitu on the chair. Panel Mayor of the same Municipality Nilufa Kuddus, journalist Mahfuz Mondal were speaking as special guests. Towhidul islam tuhin moderated the programme where president shapnashoa Aminur Ashik, President of online blood donating organization Md. Sohel Rana, local land lord Niamul Haque Runu, Rakibuzaman Titash among others were participated in the programme.
HSC examinee electrocuted in Bagerhat

Md. Jewel Shaikh (18), a HSC examinee-2107 and son of one Thanda Shaikh of village Rahamatpur within Kalatala Union under Chitalmari Upazila in Bagerhat district met his tragic end when he was electrocuted on April 14, according to delayed report received here. It is learnt from the locals that on the day at 12 am while the ill-fated HSC examinee was curing their newly constructed pucca wall with water. But, some how, he touched a live electricity wire and was fatally injured. He was rushed to the adjacent Tungipara Upazila Health Complex (in Gopalganj district) where the doctor on duty declared him dead. He was appearing in ensuing HSC examination from Tungipara Shaikh Mujibor Rahman University College under Dhaka Education Board.
ROSC Project workshop held in Manikganj

Social and Economic Enhancement Programmme-SEEP arranged an Induction Workshop on pre-vocational skills and training at Shibalaya Upazila Parishad Auditorium on yesterday. ROSC Project Face-2 Project Director Dr. M Mizanur Rahman inaugurated the workshop. Shibalaya UNO Kamal Mohammad Rashed chaired the function where Vice-Chairman Tahamina Akter Lata, Save the Children Deputy Director Nishad Afroj Mirja, Social and Economic Enhancement Programme DMD Tahmina Jesmin Mita, Shibalaya Upazila Education Officer Md. Mainul Islam, Reporter Babul Akter Manjur spoke as special guests. Chief guest said, Students specially who have passed from the Ananda School under ROSC Project will get training for 3 months, cash tk. 2000 and tk. 800 for buying equipments.
ID cards distribution begins among Mohanpur fishermen
RAJSHAHI: Distribution of identity (ID) cards with photos among fishermen in Mohanpur Upazila of Rajshahi district has started under different subsidized programmes. Under the fishermen registration and ID card distribution project of the department of fisheries, total 1,482 fish farmers will get ID in the upazila.Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Dr Amimul Ehsan said this while ddressing a card distribution meeting at Mohanpur Government High School playgroundon Sunday, reports BSS.
Ayen Uddin, MP, addressed the programme as chief guest with Upazila Nirbahi Officer Alamgir Kabir in the chair. Among others, Principal of Mohanpur Upazila Mofiz Uddin Kabiraj and Public Prosecutor Abdus Salam also spoke. On the occasion, the guests distributed cards among 50 fishermen formally. Lawmaker Ayen Uddin said with this ID, the fishermen can avail the government assistance during the lean period.
The government launched the project in 2012 involving Tk 81.8 crore with a view to identify the fishermen and providing them with assistances.

development of the fisheries sector

Around 12.8 lakh fishermen directly depend on fishing for their
livelihood. Of them, about 7.7 lakh are fishing in inland water-bodies while about 5.1 lakh are involved in fishing in coastal water-bodies or sea.
The fisheries sector has been playing an important role in the
country’s socioe-conomic development while about 1.25 crore of the country’s people directly or indirectly depend on the sector, reports BSS.
Aus incentives distributed among farmers in Jamalpur
JAMALPUR: government has taken a massive programme across the country for providing incentives to the Aus farmers for boosting the production this season.
Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) has started distribution of the incentives items like quality seeds, fertilizer and cash money in the district under the programme, a DAE official said.
DAE disbursed incentives worth about Taka 13 lakh for cultivation high yielding variety (HYV) Aus paddy among 1,000 small and marginal farmers in the district this current Kharip-1 season.
Each of the farmers got seeds, fertiliser and weeding cost for cultivating a plot of one Bigha of land, reports BSS.
