A view exchange meeting on anti-corruption was held at Moshakhali Girls’ High School at Gafargaon Upazila in Mymensingh recently. To create mass awareness among students and teachers , a view exchange meeting was held at Moshakhali Girls’ High school auditorium. Head master Md.Ataturk Kamal Azad of Moshakhali Girls’ High school presided over the meeting. Adv Dr K M Ehsan, President of upazila Anti-corruption committee was the chief guest in the oath and view exchange meeting. Md Rafiqul Bashar ,General Secretary of Upazila Anti-corruption committee, presented the meeting. . Head master Md.Ataturk Kamal Azad of Moshakhali Girls’ High school ,Dr.K.M.Ehsan Advocate, resident of upazial Anti-corruption Committee,Golam Mahmud Faroki Memmber of upazila Anti-corruption Committee , and Ajim Uddin Master,member of upazila Anti-corruption committee senior teacher A.K.M. Azizul Haque of Moshakhali Girls’ High school delivered their speeches to create awareness about Anti-corruption in the meeting.
Over 500 learners got free medical service
More than five hundred learners have been provided free medical service at Gafargaon under Mymensigh recently. Gafargaon General Hospital has been providing the service for a long time at Rasulpur High School. During the programme , Nazmul Haque Biplob , Managing Director of Gafargaon General, Hospital, Rasulpur Union Parishad Chairman Alhaj Saiful Alam. Rejaul Karim Mostofa Monto , Convener of Rasulpur Union Awami League, Abdur Rouf .Headmaster of this school was also were present at that time.
Power supply to remain suspended for 19-hr in Jhenaidah

Electricity supply will remain suspended in the district for 19 hours commencing from Friday night. The power supply will be shut to install new transformers in Jhenaidah, said the West Zone Power Development Company Limited (WZPDCL) office sources in Jhenaidah. The WZPDCL authorities urged upon the power consumers to keep patience during the unwilling inconveniences, said the sources. Executive engineer of WZPDCL in Jhenaidah Shahidul Islam on Wednesday informed the journalists that the demand of power has been increasing every moment for new power connections and increasing the number of subscribers in the district. Two 20/26 mvs sub centres are being installed in the district to meet the existing and increasing demand of power for the people of Jhenaidah. They have already completed the tender process for one of its kind for an amount of Taka six crore. New supply lines of power was started in the meantime expected to be completed by the year 2017, executive engineer (XEN) said. The official said, the total demand of power for WZPDCL subscribers in Jhenaidah is 80 megawatt, while another 45 megawatt for the consumers of rural electrification board (REB). The WZPDCL has been counting 11per cent systems loss now a day which could be reduced in near future. The power consumers of both WZPDCL and REB will consume satisfactory power as the load-shedding might be reduced faster, the XEN expressed his hope.
One held with Yaba in Benapole
BENAPOLE: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) – 6 arrested a drug peddler along with 9,000 pieces of Yaba tablets from Ghiba village in Benapole on Wednesday. The arrested was identified as Jahangir Hossain Morol, 19, of the area. On secret information, a team of RAB-6 conducted a drive in the area and arrested him with the Yaba tablets in the afternoon.
Later, he was handed over to the Port Thana police with a case in this connection, reports BSS.
Arms trader held with arms, ammo in C’nawabganj
CHAPAINAWABGANJ: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-5 arrested an alleged arms trader with a pistol, one shooter gun, two magazines and five rounds of bullets from a mango orchard at Hajarbighi village under Shibganj upazila of the district on Wednesday evening.
The arrested person was identified as Md. Monirul, 20, son of Md. Mokhles of Namochakpara village under the same upazila. The RAB said, acting on secret information, an operation team of the force from Chapainawabganj camp raided the aforesaid area around 6pm and arrested Monirul with the arms and ammunition. Later, he was handed over to Shibganj police after filing a case, reports BSS.
