Jaldhaka to Nilphamari road repairing work inaugurated

The woes of the people of Jaldhaka to communicate with district headquarter Nilphamari by road have come to an end with the repairing and widening of 22- km connecting road. Sources of the Road & Highway Department said the condition of the road was very vulnerable and too narrow for trafficking. As a result, people of Jaldhaka and six other upazilas had to experience trouble to communicate with Nilphamari. Therefore, people of the areas demanded repair and widening of the road for many years. Cultural Minister Asaduzzaman Noor inaugurated the repairing and widening works of the road on October 09, 2016. Three construction firms named Mozaha Enterprise, National Civil Engineering and Concord Progoti Ltd have been implementing the project. The repairing and widening works are being implemented under three packages. The first package include widening and repairing on 11 km from Petrol Pump to Kochukata point with the road and the second package from Kochukata to Nilphamari point. The third package includes construction of four bridges and four culverts.
National High School Programming Contest held in Saidpur

National High School Programming Contest was held in Saidpur Cantonment Public School and College auditorium on Wednesday. ICT Division organised the programme. The competition was inaugurated by releasing balloons. Bangladesh Army 222 Brigade Commander and Saidpur Cantonment Station Commander ABM Shefaul Kabir AFWC, PSC was present as Chief Guest. Earlier, the chief guest hoisted the National Flag. The Principal of Saidpur Cantonment Public School and College Lt Col Md. Abdul Kader Hossain PSC was the Chief Guest of the programme.
Saidpur UNO Abu Saleh Md. Musa Jongi delivered the welcome speech as the President of the program. SaidpurUpazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ahmed Mahbub-ul-Islam, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Rehana Yasmin, Principal of Saidpur College Hafizur Rahman, Principal of Govt Technical School and College Shah Amir Ali Azad, Vice Principal of Cantonment Public School and College Asit Kumar Sarkar, Principal of Sunflower School and College Mokhlesur Rahman Jewel, Headmaster of Al-Faruq Academ Shafiul Islam and ICT teachers of different educational Institutions were present .
Quiz contest and programming contest was held in which students from different School and College took part. After the contest certificates, medals and T-shirts were provided among the winners. Also a variety of educational materials were distributed among the participants.
In fact, to enhance their skills in computer programming and to make it popular among the students ICT Division of the Government arranged the National High School Quiz and programming competition for the third time.
