Kaizen seminar held in Jhenaidah

Kaizen seminar, a seminar towards better and continuous development was held in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner of Jhenaidah on Monday. Jointly organised by Jhenaidah district administration, Bangladesh Public Administrative Training Centre (BPATC) and JAICA, Deputy Commissioner Mahbub Alan Talukder presided over the seminar. BPATC board of directors’ member Dr. Shahadat Hossain Mahmud attended the seminar as chief guest, while director of the centre Malik Sayeed Mahbub, deputy director Abdul Kader, deputy director of the local government rural development (LGRD) Abu Yusuf Mohammad Rezaur Rahman, additional deputy commissioner (general) Abur Rauf and additional district magistrate Asaduzzaman attended as special guests. Jhenaidah Press Club president M Raihan, Executive Engineer of local government engineering department (LGED) Abdul Malek, Upazaila parishad chairman Abdul Alim, district election officer Jahangir Hossain and upazila agriculture officer Dr. Khan Mohammad Maniruzzaman among others participated in the seminar.

A view exchange meeting on Anti-corruption was held at Gafargaon Altaf Golandaz Degree College at Gafargaon Upazila under Mymensingh taking oath against anti-corruption among students, teachers, with upazila Anti-corruption committee on Monday. .To create mass awareness among students and teachers about Anti-corruption a view exchange meeting was held at Gafargaon Gafargaon Altaf Golandaz Degree College auditorium. Principal Md.Shamsul Hoque of Gafargaon Altaf Golandaz Degree College presided over the meeting. Avd Dr K M Ehsan ,President of Upazila Anti-Corruption Committee was the chief guest in the oath and view exchange meeting.

The second annual Sunni Grand Conference-2017 was held at Bitghar Khanbari in Nabinagar Upazila of Brahmanbaria district on Tuesday, said a press release. Gaddinshin pir of Taragan Darbar Sharif Pirzada Alhaj Hafez Syed Shah Arefin Shah attended the programme while Dewan Aftabul Alam was present as the chief guest. Md Mahmudur Rahman Rajib and Allama Sayed Mohammad Abdul Qaiuum attended the programme as the special guest and main speaker respectively. The speakers dwelt on the Quran and Hadith.
Dacoity committed in Kachua

A daring dacoity was committed in the house of one Shaikh Asadur Rahman Dulu of village Bichot within Raripara Union Parishad under Kachua Upazila in Bagerhat district on Sunday and the dacoits looted cash taka, gold ornaments and other valuables worth Taka several lakhs. The house owner disclosed, in the early hours (at about 2 am) a gang of masked dacoit, 7/8 in number, raided his house and entered it by breaking open the grilles of the windows. Then the dacoits made all the inmates of the house hostage at arms point, confined then in a room and looted cash Tk.1.52 lakh, gold ornaments weighing about 40 grams and 3 mobile phones sets worth more than Tk.3 lakh. At that time the dacoits ransacked a television set and an almirah. Kabirul Islam Molla, Officer-in-charge of Kachua PS told the newsmen, police raided the village Bichot on Monday in the morning in connection with dacoity incident and arrested a dacoit named Sirajul Islam from the village suspecting his involvement in the dacoity. He added, other dacoits will be arrested very soon.
