View exchange meet on Anti-Corruption held at Gafargaon

A view exchange meeting on Anti-corruption was held at Gafargaon Khairullah Government Girl’s’ School at Gafargaon Upazila under Mymensingh taking oath against Anti-corruption among students, teachers, with upazila Anti-corruption committee on 26th January, 2017.To create mass awareness among students and teachers about Anti-corruption a view exchange meeting was held at Gafargaon Khairullah Government Girl’s School auditorium. Headmistress Momota Rani Biswas Chowdhory of Gafargaon Khairullah Government Girl’s’ School presided over the meeting. Dr,K.M.Ehsan Advocate,president of upazila Anti-corruption committee was the chief guest in the oath and view exchange meeting. Md Rafiqul Bashar ,vice-president of upazila Anti-corruption committee, presented the meeting. Headmaistress Momota Rani Biswas Chowdhory of Gafargaon Khairullah Government Girl’s’ School, Dr.K.M.Ehsan Advocate,president of upazial Anti-corruption Committee, Vice-president,Nirupoma Debnath of upazila Anti-corruption Committee, Sultan Ahmed,member of upazila Anti-corruption committee, Golam Mahmud Faroki Memmber of upazila Anti-corruption Committee , and Ajim Uddin Master,member of upazila Anti-corruption committee delivered their speeches to create awareness about Anti-corruption in the meeting. Headmaistress Momota Rani Biswas Chowdhory of Gafargaon Khairullah Government Girl’s’ School urged the teachers and students to come forward to remove corruption from the society. Upazila Anti-corruption President Dr.K.M.Ehsan Advocate administered the students oath about anti-corruption.
Youth commits suicide in Osmaninogor

A youth committed suicide in Osmaninogor on Tuesday night. His name is A Latib Shahin son of late Haji Rashidullah Rangapur Village under Osmaninogor Upazila. On receiving news Police sent body of Hospital for autopsy. According to SI Ram Prashad the deceased went to sleep in him room at 10.00 pm. On Wednesday morning Family member found him dead. A case register in local police station.
Anti-drug human chain fromed in C’nawabganj

As part of the anti-drug campaign Balugram Adarsha College in Chapainawabganj sadar upazila arranged an anti-drug procession and human chain here yesterday. The procession started from the college campus. After parading the main roads of the area it ended at the same venue. Later a human chain was formed in front of the main gate of the college and a rally was also held there. Princial of the college Md. Matiur Rahman, vice-principal NSM Mahbubur Rahman, assistant director of the District Narcotics Control office Md. Alamgir Hossain, inspector of the same Elias Hossain Talukdar, teachers Shahin Aktar and Rokeya Khatun spoke. The speakers said, drugs have been spoiling the present generation. They asked the students to remain away from the destructive drugs.
Student killed in Bagerhat road mishap

Shahidul Islam (18), a student of XI class science of local Khanjahan Ali Degree College and son of one Sobhan Shaikh of village Nataikhali under Sadar Upazila in Bagerhat district met his tragic end when he was run over by a speeding passenger Mahendra, a three wheeled mechanized vehicle on Bagerhat-Khulna Highway just in front of the college on Tuesday morning. Khondokar Asif Uddin Rakhi, Principal of the college disclosed to the newsmen that ill-fated student was coming to the college on foot and when he reached the place of occurrence the killer three wheeled vehicle dashed him violently from his behind and fled away. As a result, he was fatally injured. He was rushed to Bagerhat Sadar Hospital where the doctor declared him dead. As a mark of its protest the agitated students of the college ransacked a passenger bus and blockaded the highway.
Being informed of the matter police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control when they assured the students to arrest the driver of the killer vehicle.
View-exchange meeting on sugarcane cultivation
CHUADANGA: A view exchange meeting on increasing sugarcane cultivation in Darsana Sugar Mills zone area of the district was held on Darsana Sugar Mills Officers’ Club premises on Friday afternoon. Chairman of Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industries Corporation AKM Delwar Hossain was present on the occasion as chief guest. Managing director of Darsana Sugar Mills ABM Ashraf Hossain presided over the function. A large number of sugarcane cultivators, officials of Darsana Sugar Mills and CBA leaders of the mills attended the function. Chief guest Delwar Hossain called upon the sugarcane cultivators to increase production for saving the sugar industry. He said the present government is a farmer-friendly administration and because of this prices of sugarcane have been increased to inspire sugarcane cultivation in the country, reports BSS.
