3- day long Girls’ Guides camp starts in Barisal

A three- day long tenth district camp of Bangladesh Girl Guides Association starts at Barisal regional campus of BGGA on Friday stressing on spreading Girl Guides movement for empowerment of skilled women. Jebunnesa Afroj, local lawmaker, inaugurated the camp as chief guest while Biplob Kumar Bhattacharya, secretary Barisal Education Board was special guest of the camp inaugural ceremony. Among others, Begum Faizun Nahar, regional commissioner, Rabeya Khatun, additional regional commissioner, addressed the programme presided over by Luthfun Nahar Afroj, district education officer and district commissioner of BGGA. About 300 members and officials of BGGA district unit participating in the camp with the theme’ Let practice guiding, build a world of friendship’ and would be ended with camp-fire on Sunday night.

Abdul Awal, Daily Shatabdir Khanta Editior Ahmedullah, The Daily Kishoreganj Times Editor Advocate A.B.M Lutfur Rahsid Rana, District Press Club President Mustafa Kamal, Senior Journalist Alam Sarowar Tito, Senior Journalist Bidyut Prasad Roy, Md. Ashraful Islam, Sakauddin Ahmed Rajon, Muniruzzaman Khan Chowdhury Sohel, Shafiq Adnan, Bijoy Roy Khoka, Shamsul Alam Shaheen, Nazrul Islam Khairul were also present.
69th founding anniv of BCL Celebrated

The 69th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student wing of Bangladesh Awami League, was celebrated in Bagerhat district town and its all the nine upazilas amid various programmes on Wednesday. The student organization earlier chalked out an elaborate programme to celebrate the founding anniversary in a befitting manner. The day’s programme started with hoisting the national and party flags in Chatra League Office premises at the local Rail Road and placing of floral wreaths on the portrait of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Shaikh Mujibor Rahman at the same place in the morning. It was followed by cutting a founding ceremony cake weighing 69 pounds.
