Al-Mamun Sarder, Headmaster, Collectorate Public School presided over the function. Mr. Prodip Kumar, organizing secretary, Bangladesh AL, Bogra Zila unit, Goutam Kumar, president, Bangabandhu Shishu Kishore Academy Bogra attended the function as special guest. Speakers at the function thanked the honorable PM. Giving academic books among the students on the first day of the year.
Dacoit arrested in South Surma

Police Arrested a Dacoit name Bacchu Mia (34), from South surma in Sylhet District. He is the son of Ahad Mia of Srimongal PS. At present he lives in the colony of Ershad Mia on Sunday police sent him to jail through court. Police informed on Saturday night, He was staying in a residential hotel in South surma on receiving secret information ASI (in charge) South Surma Thana Ripon Das made on operation and arrested Bacchu mia later. He was handed over to Moglabazar Thana. He is an accused of a dacoity case in Moglabazar.
Seminar on involvement of Ispahani in cotton dev held

A day- long seminar on Involvement of Ispahani in Cotton Development was held in Chuadanga on Sunday. Ispahani Agro Limited, an enterprises of MM Ispahani Limited organised the programme at Police Park auditorium with general manager of the supply chain and Business Development of the company Fawzia Yasmeen. Executive director of Cotton Development Board (CDB) Farid Uddin attended the programme as chief guest, while Pahartali Textile and Hosiery Mills chief operating Officer Mahbubul Alam, Deputy director of CDB Zafar Ali and Chief executive Officer of Zerintex Juber Alam Juel attended as special guests. Cotton farmers Khairul Islam, Adam Bari, chief cotton development officers Shefali Majumder, Kutub Uddin, Abdus Salam and cotton zinners Golam Saber Lal and Nasir Mridha among others spoke.
Caritas Sylhet Region gets new RD

The Caritas, a charity organization has appointed Joachim Gomes as Regional Director (Acting) of Caritas Sylhet Region with effect from 1st January this year. In a handing and taking over of charge programme of Gomes gets appointment in Caritas Sylhet Region hall room in Surmagate area under Sylhet city on Monday . In this programme Bishop Bejoy N. D’ Cruze, head of Sylhet Catholic Diocese attended as a chief guest. Gomes has succeeded John Montu Palma, who went into retirement on 31st December, 2016, after 28 years of service. Before his new position, Gomes served Caritas Sylhet Region as its Assistant Regional Head.
