Old woman killed in Baraigram road mishap

Baraigram (Natore) Correspondent

An old woman was died in a road accident at Gunaihati in Baraigram upazila under Natore district on last Friday on Natore- Pabna highway road. The old woman was identified as Maleka Khatun (60) wife of Jamal Uddin of the village Kayemkola in Baraigram upazila. She was going from her own house to a relative’s house of the village Dayerpara of Lalpur upazila by a auto-rickshaw. When he reached at Gunaihati, a truck hit the rickshwa. Then, an accident was happened and she was seriously injured. People took her to a local hospital. But, the acting doctor declared her death.

Int’l workshop on CI starts at JU

A two- day long international workshop on Computational Intelligence (CI)-2016 jointly organized by JU Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department and South Asian University, will be starts today and continue till Dec 13. Prof Mohammed Sharif Uddin Chairman of CSE department disclosed the information at a press conference. JU Vice-Chancellor Prof Farzana Islam is expected to inaugurated the Programme while, Member of public service commission (PSC) Professor Sharif Enamul Kabir will be present as the Chief Guest. A total of 52 fundamental research papers of prominent researchers from Italy, Japan, India, Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh has been accepted for presentation which has been accepted by double blind review process as well as according the direction of Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). These research papers will be presented in 6 technical oral sessions in the workshop. A total of 15 internationally reputed computational intelligence researchers will attend to workshop.

Constriction labour dies falling from bus in Monirampur

One constriction labor was killed after failing from the roof of running bus in Monirampur Upazila on Saturday morning. He was identified as Ashraful (18), son of Aslam Gazi of village Jaljara. He was going to Jessore town for constriction work.

13 jungle pirates released on bail in Bagerhat

Some 13 jungle pirates including their ring leader belonging to Sagar Bahini, a notorious gang of jungle pirates (of Sundarban forest) who surrendered to a law enforcing agency (RAB) with a huge arms and ammunitions recently with the promise that they will give up the piracy and will return to normal life were released on bail from the jail hajat of Bagerhat on Thursday. The jungle pirates were brought before Fazlul Haq, District and Session Judge of Bagerhat and submitted their bail petitions before him. After hearing the prayers the learned judge was pleased to grant their prayers and issued an order for their release. The jungle pirates are (ring leader) Md. Alamgir Shaikh alias Sagar (35), Md. Kamrul Fakir (27), Md. Abdul Malek (38), Md. Hafizur Rahman Shaikh (46), Md. Kabir Sarkar (34), Md. Kader Shaikh (38), Md. Delwar Shaikh (38), Md. Hasan Sardar (22), Md. Nanna Fakir (29), Md. Tauhidul Islam (43), Md. Raju Shaikh (28), Md. Lyton Sardar (34) and Md. Tarikul Gazi 32).
They hail from the different places of Mongla, Rampal and Morrelganj Upazilas in Bagerhat district.
