Factional clash in Jhenidah village leaves police SI injured

A police sub- inspector sustained bamboo stick hit and rushed to Shailkupa upazila health complex on Saturday morning. The incident took place when the SI Shahjahan Ali had tried to stop a fierce village clash at Goalbaria village under Shailkupa upazila in Jhenidah. During the clash police fired 6 round blank shots. At the time they have arrested three persons involved in this clash. Sailkupa police officer in charge Iqbal Bahar Cowdhury said, two groups of the ruling Awami League supporters Abdus Satter and Mostafa Hossain of Goalbaria village locked in a fierce clash following distribution of irrigation water from a canal under Ganges-Kobadak (GK) project in the morning of Saturday at around 11-00 am.Both the groups appeared with Dhal, Falla, Lathi, Sarki and other sharp and leathal weapons. Sub inspector of Katlagari police out post Shahjana Ali and his contingent while trying refrain them from the clash, a villager had hit the SI with a bamboo stick leaving the SI critically injured. He was rushed to Shailkupa upazila health complex.Among injured ten, Abdus Satter, Nayeb Ali, Toyeb Ali and Selim were rushed to Sailkupa upazila health complex, while given primary treatment.
Body of farmer recovered in Phulbari

Slaughtered body of a farmer was recovered here in Phulbari upazila under Dinajpur district on Thursday morning, police said. The deceased was identified as Md. Abdus Kuddus, 37, son of Abu Bakkar of Khandakhoi village in Phulbari upazila under Dinajpur. Recovering the body police sent it to Dinajpur Medical College and Hospital for autopsy. Village of Siddisi noticed the body at jute field on Thursday morning. Police said the criminals stabbed him and later slaughtered him to death and left the body on the jute field. Police arrested Md. Bulbul Ahmed a rickshaw van puller of the area in connection with the killing incident. A murder was filed with Phulbari police station. Sushanta Sarkar ASP of Phulbari Cercal and Rabiul Islam Khan OC of Phulbari Police station confirmed this matter.
Robber held with foreign arms in Savar

A robber was arrested by Savar thana police from Bank town area with a foreign arm on Friday midnight.The arrestee was identified as Muzibor, 36, of Chutrashi area of Doulotpur of Manikganj district. Police source said, on secret information police conducted a drive at Bank town area and arrested Muzibor. That time a foreign arms was recovered from his possession. The arrestee was a member of a marked robber gang. After 10 years convicting some days ago he came out from jail. Two more robbery case had against him. Md.Hashem Ali, SI of Savar police station confirming the matter said an arms case was filed against him.
Fire breaks out at furnish oil factory in Savar
A fire broke out at Asia Rinable Oil Ltd namely furnish oil factory of Ternary more area of Hemayetpur of Savar on Friday morning . Six fire fighting units of Savar, Dhamrai and Dhaka controlled the fire after trying two and half hour. Witnesses and labor source said, Firstly fire caught at some wastage in front of factory then labors of factory tried to control the fire and one time they think fire was extinguished so they went inside the factory. After sometimes labors saw smoke from that wastage and they tried second time controlling the fire. But that time fire already caught at an oil dram and it spread very quickly whole factory. On information, two units of firefighters rushed to the spot and tried to control the flames while they failed 4 more units was called and after an effort of about 2.30 hours fire was controlled.
Workshop on Upazila Women Dev Forum held in Baraigram

A day long workshop to form “Upazila Women Development Forum”was held in Baraigram recently. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mst. Sharifunnesa presided over the workshop. Deputy Director of Local Government, Natore, Md Shakhawath Hossain was present as a chief guest. Upazila Chaiman Principal Ekramul Alam was present as a special guest in the workshop. It was also addressed among others by Upazila Mahila Vice- Chaiman Mst Helena Begum, Upazila Agriculture Officer Md Nazrul Islam, Upazila Senior Fishery Officer Md Rafikul Islam and Upazila Mahila Affairs Officer Md Afser Ali Mondol. Speakers said the aim and the necessity to form the “Upazila Women Development Forum”. In the workshop, a committee of the “Upazila Women Development Forum” was elected by voting. It included 11 posts of members. They are Chairman Mst Helena Begum, Vice-Chairman Salma Begum, General Secretary Shahida Begum, Cashier Sabina Yesmin Shapna, Members (7) Akhlima Khatun, Asma Khatun (Baraigram), Asma Khatun (Machgoa), Latifa Begum, Firoza Begum, Nazma Begum and Rani Begum.
