Fake notes recovered in Nilphamari

Rapid action battalion (RAB)-13 in Nilphamari camp recovered fake currency notes amounting Tk 12.50 lakh and arrested a person in this connection from Later haat bazaar of Birganj upazila in evening of Sunday. Media Wing of RAB in Nilphamari company camp informed that acting on secret information a RAB team lead by company commander Major Md Khurshid Anwar raided the computer shop named ‘Swapna digital studio’ owned by one Khademul Islam at Later haat bazaar in evening of Sunday. At that time they caught red-handed one Md Shawkat Islam (20) son of Md Usman Ghani of Miratungi village of the upazila from the spot as he was then engaged in making fake notes using computer, sophisticated printer.RAB also recovered 1,250 pieces of brand new fake currency notes of Tk 1000/ each total amounting Tk 12.50 lakh from his possession. However, owner of the computer shop managed to escape from the hands of law enforcing agency. RAB commander informed that the arrestee Shawkat in their interrogation confessed that his father is a disfamous fake note maker in the district. He also disclosed the names of his network men who usually spread the forged notes in local haats and bazaars by purchasing a fake note of Tk 1000/ at a cost of Tk 100. Officer in charge of Nilphamari police station Babul Akhtar informed that RAB handed over the fake note maker Shawkat Islam to them at dead night of Sunday. A case has also been filed in this connection.
Child drowns in Baraigram pond

A child Rifath Hossain (5) was drowned in the pond water on Monday. Rifath was a only one son of businessman Ashraph Ali of the village Royna Vorth of Baraigram upazila in Natore . Rifath’s mother was cooking in the kitchen while Rifath was playing at the yard of the house. After an hours, he was not seen in nearby places. Suddenly, his body was found as floating in the pond water. Then he was taken in a Baraigram Hospital. But the acting doctor declared him death.
LGED engineer Sarowar passes away

Local Government Engineer Department (LGED) a Senior Assistant Engineer Alauddin-Al-Sarowar Khandaker passed away at Kishoreganj General Hospital on Friday midnight. He was 40. He left behind wife, mother, one son and host relatives to mourn his death. His dead body was taken to the LGED Office premise and after wards, his namaj- e -janaja was held at the Adi Tangail Boro Mosque in Tangail town.LGED Rural Development and Co-operative Minister Engineer Khandaker Mosharaf Hossain, LGED Chief Engineer Shama Adhakari, Deputy Commissioner Md. Azimuddin Biswas, LGED Executive Engineer Golum Moula, Contract Forum Convener Md. Badal Rahman, CAB President Alam Sarowar Tito, District Press Club President Mostafa Kamal, Secretary Ashraful Islam were expressed deep shock and condolence message at the death of Engineer Sarowar Khandaker.
Coordination meeting for communal harmony held

A day coordination meeting on the role of Imam and other Islamic Scholars on communal harmony organized by Islamic Foundation Narsingdi was held at Deputy Commissioner’s conference room on Sunday. DC of Narsingdi Abu Hena Morshed Zaman addressed the meeting as chief guest with Deputy Director Islamic Foundation Abu Taher Siddique in the chair. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Jasim uddin Haider and senior Assistant Police Super Mohammad Bashir uddin were also present as special guests and addressed. Moderated by Assistant Director, Islamic Foundation Mohammad Rouhal Amin, Principal of Bashial Madrasha Moulana Abul Hossain, Khotib of Narsingdi Sadar upazila mosque Moulana Atikullah and Islamic Scholar Moulana Sultan uddin Nori among others addressed in the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner Morshed Zaman said,the Imam and Islamic Scholars are the leaders of the society, they have a vital role toward social development through free from all sorts of degradation tendencies specially militancy, terrorism and violence. He said there are crimes of various sorts in the present society. The Imam and Islamic Scholars should come forward to do something better against the crimes as a part of their social responsibility. The DC termed the Brahmanbaria attacks as a part of conspiracy to frustrate the social peace and communal harmony. He said Bangladesh is progressing and it is on the right track to achieve its 2021 goal of becoming a middle income country and a development country by 2041.
