PS inaugurated at Gafargaon

The inauguration ceremony of the second police station was held at Gafargaon Upazila under Mymensingh on Wednesday . A.K.M. Shahidul Haque , Inspector General of Police inaugurated the new thana at Gafargaon. The local Honourable MP Fahmi Golandaz Babel, Mymensingh -10 ,Gafargaon was also present in this inaugural ceremony. Tangabo, Datterbazar, Usthi, Longair, Pythol, Panchbag, Moshakhali, and Neguari union of the south area of Gafargaon Upazila included to this new Pagla Thana. This new Pagla Thana will operate its function with 8 unions of this upazila. The fourth floor building of Pagla Thana has been established on 3 acre and 1 shataonsho land with the expenditure of Tk.2 crore 68 lakh funded by Finance Ministry. I G P Shahidul Haque said, Those who have acceptability will come into Thana. Those who are corrupted will not come to thana. The community police find out the problem with the help of common people and they will take action against them.
National Cooperative Day observed in Kishoreganj

Kishoreganj District Cooperative Department arranged a colourfull rally, discussion and campaign marking the 45th National Cooperative Day on Saturday. A discussion on ‘Co-operative: Sustainable Development’ held at Cooperative Community Center in the town on Saturday. Deputy Commissioner Md. Azimuddin Biswas attended as Chief Guest while District Co-operative Society President Md. Hymaun Kabir in the chair. It was address among others by ADC (General) Tarofder Md. Akhter Jamil as special guet, District Co-oprative Officer Kazi Abul Ehasan Apu, District Awami League General Secretary Advocate M.A. Afazol, Freedom Fighter Unit Commander Md. Asad Ullah, Abu Khaled Pathan, Gonotrantree Party President Adv. Bhopendra Bowmik Dolon, and District Press Club President Mostafa Kamal. Deputy Commission Azimuddin Biswas said that a co-operative is an attacking national development and progress. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman attacched special importance to co-operatives for establishing explonation free ‘Golden Bangla’ through allevation of hunger, poverty and unemployment from the society. A colourfull rally was brought out in the town led by D.C Md. Azimuddin Biswas.
36 held, Yaba tablets seized in Satkhira
SATKHIRA: Police, in special drives, from Friday night to this morning arrested 36 accused on various charges from seven upazilas in the district and seized banned drug Yaba tablets. Sources with the law enforcement agency said, during the drives, Satkhira Sadar police arrested 13 accused, Kalaroa police six, including one Jamaat-e-Islami activist, Patkelghata police one, Assasuni police four, Tala police two, Kaliganj police three, Shyamnagar police six and Debhata police one accused. During the drives, Sadar Thana police seized 63 pieces of Yaba tablets, the sources said. Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added, reports BSS.
