Migrant rights network confce held in Mymensingh

Divisional Migrant Right Networks Conference and Consultation on Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) was held at Mymensingh Press Club hall room in Mymensingh on Sunday . Mymensingh Zilla NGO officials and others took part in the meeting to create awareness “Migration that Works for Sustainable Development of All: a transformative migration agenda by 2030”. Syed Saiful Haque, Chairman, WARBE Development Foundation in the chair, S.M. Sofiqul Haider Mukul, Principal, Mymensingh College, Addressed by chief guest, Md. Nazmul Ahsan , chairman, Bangladesh Ovibashi Foundation Adhikar Forum (BOAF) by welcome speech, Jasia Khatoon, Director, WARBE Development Foundation , presentation on Background of Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD) & 2016 Themes & Sub-themes. It was discussed among others by Md. Abul Kalam Rassel, Executive Director, Progoti Kallyan Songstha & Vice Chairman of Zila ADAB, Rina Akter Jahan, Principal, Technical Training Centre, Mymensingh, Babul Hossain, General Secretary Mymensingh Press Club, Muhammad Ali Hossain Khasru, Executive Director, Jalal Nogar Development Programme (JNDP). Journalist were also present on the occasion.
Jessore court grants bail for Sangbad Acting Editor

Bangla Daily Sangbad acting editor Khandaker Muniruzzaman was granted bail in a defamation case filed by former Bidyanandakathi union council chairman Khalilur Rahman in 2012. The court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Humayun Kabir granted the bail on Wednesday noon as he appeared before the court following issuing of arrest warrant against him by the court, said Rukunuddaullah, senior correspondent, Daily Sangbad. He told news men that Khalilur Rahman, Bidyanandakathi union council chairman under Keshabpur upazila filed a defamation case against Khandaker Muniruzzaman in 2012 over publication of a news story. Kazi Faridul Islam, Abul Hossain, Mahmud Hossain Bulu, Kamrunnahar Kana and several lawyers pleaded the case on behalf of the journalist.
AL leader passes away in Bagerhat

Sheikh Abdul Mannan, former Secretary for the Forest and Environment of Bagerhat district Unit of Bangladesh Awami League, former President of Chhatra League of the erstwhile Bagerhat Sub-division, former General Secretary of Bagerhat Poura Awami League and former councilor of Bagerhat Pourashava breathed his last in his residence at Dashpara Mor (squire) in Bagerhat district town on last Tuesday due to old aged diseases at the age of 71. He left behind his widow, two sons, two daughters, two brothers and a host of relatives, friends and admirers to mourn his death.

He was honest, well behaved and amiable in manner all through his life. On the occasion Dr. Mozammel Hossain, President of Bagerhat District Asami League and MP of Bagerhat Constituency-4, Sheikh Kamruzzaman,General Secretary of Bagerhat district Awami League, Al-haj Adv. Mir Shawkat Ali Badsha, Senior Vice-president of Bagerhat district Awami League and MP, Bagerhat Constituency-2, Khan Habibur Rahman, Joint Secretary of Bagerhat district unit of Bangladesh Awami League and Mayor of Bagerhat Pourashava, Shaikh Bashirul Islam, President of Bagerhat Poura Awami League and Ibne Mijan Hiru, General Secretary of Bagerhat Poura Awami League condoled the death of senior AL leader Shaikh Abdul Mannan and expressed their deep sympathy to the members of the bereaved family.
