Water treatment plant inaugurated in Rampal

A newly built Water Treatment Plant was inaugurated at Sreeefaltala in Rampal at 10 a.m. on Sunday. A function was arranged by RRF to inaugurate the plant . Presided over by Ramapl Sadar UP Chairman Alhaj Jamil Hasan Jamu , MP of Ramapl-Mongla Constituency, inaugurated the plant as Chief Guest. Deputy Managing Director of PKSF Md. Fazlul Kader was present there as honorable guest in the function .Upazilla Chairman Sk. Md. Abu Sayed ,Upazilla Nirbahi Officer Rajib Kumar Roy, Chairperson of RRF Mir Rowshan Ali Mona and Executive Director of Rural Reconstruction Foundation (RRF) Filliph Biswash were present there as special guest. This project was jointly funded by PKSF and Department of International Development (DFID) .
Interest- free loan distributed in Rampal
Interest free loan was distributed in Rampal among the poor people under Rural Social Service Programme recently .Upazilla Coperative Office of Rampal arranged the function to distribute loan among the beneficiaries .UNO of Ramap Upazilla Rajib Kumar Roy presided over the function . MP of Rampal-Mongla constituency Alhaj Talukder Abdul Khaleq distributed the interest free loan among the people as Chief Guest . Upazilla Chairman Sk. Md. Abu Sayed ,Upazilla Vice Chairman Moajjem Hossain, Mohila Vice Chairman Hosneara Mili and Upazilla Social Welfare Officer A.K.M. Asadujjaman were present as special guest . Under this programme ,Tk.6,50,00 was distributed among 51 beneficiaries.
Couple electrocuted in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI: A couple was electrocuted and their two daughters received injuries at Morshedpur village under Bagha upazila of the district last night, police and locals said. The deceased were identified as Abu Kalam Abu, 50, and his wife Farida Begum, 45. Their daughters Ruma Khatun, 18, and Mousumi Khatun, 15, were undergoing treatment in a nearby hospital. Quoting locals, Ali Mahmud, Officer-in-Charge of Bagha Police Station, said the incident occurred when Abu first came in contact with a live electric wire. His wife met the same fate while trying to save her husband. The daughters were injured when they were attempting to save their parents. Locals rushed them to Upazila Health complex where the attending doctors declared the couple dead, reports BSS.
Youth held with firearm, ammunition
Police arrested a youth with a foreign-made pistol and lethal weapons from Vatopara area under Charghat upazila of the district this (Monday) morning, police sources said. The arrested person was identified as Mozaffar Hossain, 25, of the same village. On a tip-off, a team of police conducted a sudden raid in a sugarcane field and arrested him at around 5.30 am. They also recovered a pistol, one magzin, one bullet and some lethal weapons from his possession. Nibaran Chanda Barman, Officer-in-Charge of Charghat Police Station, said the arrested person was involved in various terrorist activities for long. A case was recorded with the police station in this connection, reports BSS.
Young man held with firearms in Jessore
JESSORE: Police arrested a young man with firearms and bullet from Jadavpur Ghoshpara area under Sharsha upazila of the district on Sunday. The arrested was identified as Ayat Ali, 25, son of Malek Morol of the area. Acting on a tip-off, a team of police raided in Jadavpur Ghoshpara area at around 1 pm yesterday and arrested Ayat Ali. Police seized one shooter-gun and one bullet from his possession after searching his body. A case was recorded with Sharsha Thana in this connection, reports BSS.
