School student killed in Kishoreganj

A schoolboy was killed by some miscreants at Charsholakia Railgate in the town on Tuesday night. The victim was identified as Pradip Datta (14) son of Shamol Datta, a student in class 7 of Local Model Boys’ School in Kishoreganj. Received on information Rail Police rushed the spot and recovered the dead body sent to Kishoreganj 250 Bedded General Hospital morgue for autopsy. A case was filed in this connection with Kishoreganj G.R.P Thana.
Minor boy killed, father injured in road mishap in Jhenaidah

An eight year old unidentified boy was killed and his father and the driver of a locally assembled three wheeler Nosiman injured when a oil tanker dashed their three wheeler from the back near Bejpara on Jhenaidah-Jessore Highway under Kaliganj upazila on Monday afternoon. The injured were rushed to Jhenaidah general hospital and Kaliganj upazila health complex. Kaliganj police station officer in charge Aminul Islam said, the three wheeler started from Kaliganj stand was marching towards Jhenaidah. At about 3.00 PM when it arrived near Beljpara, the oil tanker dashed from the back leaving the minor boy died on the spot. His father and the driver of the three-wheeler Swapan sustained injuries. The father was rushed to Jhenaidah general hospital in a critical state, while the driver was rushed to local upazila health complex at Kaliganj. Local people seized the oil tanker. The police was preparing to file a case, officer in charge said.
Field-day on harvesting Zink paddy held
PANCHAGARH: Farmers field-day on harvesting Zink BRRIdhan 62 was held at Aloakhoa village under Atowary upazila of Panchagarh district on Monday afternoon. Deputy director of Agriculture Extension Department Md Rafiqul Islam formally inaugurated the field day by cutting paddy. A discussion meeting was oganised on the occasion. The deputy director addressed the discussion as the chief guest. The chief guest said Bangladesh has no deficiency in food. He said, “We have attained self-sufficiency in the food sector. Now we need nutrition. For this, we need cultivation of the Zink variety paddy as the BRRIdhan 62 has manifold nutritious element.” He told the farmers that that the Zink paddy is a short duration crop. At least 10 maunds of paddy can be produced from one bigha of land within 100 days.
Body recovered in C’nawabganj

Police of Chapainawabganj Sadar thana recovered an unidentified dead body from Powel village under Jhilim union of Chapainawabganj sadar upazila on Monday afternoon. OC of Chapainawabganj sadar thana Mazharul Islam said, it is suspected that the person was electrocuted as he was trying to steal a transformer of BMDA at anytime on Sunday night. Being informed police recovered the dead body at 12-45 pm and sent it to the Chapainawabganj sadar hospital morgue for autopsy. A UD case was recorded with the police station.
Two killed in truck-CNG collision in Sylhet

Two persons have been killed and four others were injured in a road traffic accident on the east end of Lamakaji M.A. Khan Bridge at small hours recently. It has been learnt from eye witnesses that a CNG auto rickshaw five persons on board on way to Tukerbazar collided head-on-with a truck running from the opposite direction resulting in Kawsar Ahmed (25) S/O Hazi Ala Uddin of Talukpara of Mogolgaon, Sadar Upazila and Freedom Fighter Hazi Akbar Ali (70) S/O Late Sonafar Ali of Borokapon village under Chhatak Upazila spot dead. The three injured persons are Sufia Begum (40), W/O Md. Iliyas Ali of Durlabpur, Bishwanath, Abu Hussain (30) S/O Shamsher Ali of the Same village and Abdur Rahim (22) S/O Wahab Ali of Kajirpur village of Sadar Upazila.
