Body of labourer found floating in River Panguchi

The dead body of Taher Molla (50), a labourer who fell into the river Panguchi on the bank of which Morrelganj Upazila headquarters stands in Bagerhat district and was drowned in it on Tuesday was recovered from the same place of the river at 9 am on Thursday . Some locals found the dead body floating in the river and informed the police of the matter. Police rushed to the spot and recovered the dead body from the river. It is stated that Taher Molla who hailed from the village Uttar Tafalbari under Sharankhola Upazila in Bagerhat district fell into the river Panguchi from a cargo laden with sands and anchored at Morrelganj launch ghat on Tuesday and was missing.
2 young men arrested along with Yaba in Mollahat
DB police of Bagerhat district raided a medicine shop at Nashukhali bazar under Mollahat Upazila in Bagerhat district on Wednesday evening recovered some 50 pieces of Yaba tablets and arrested seller Imran Shaikh (35) and buyer Kalai Shaikh (25) from a medicine shop of the bazar. At that time 2 other drug sellers managed to escape. According to the police, Imran Shaikh, the owner the medicine shop has been engaged in the drug profession in the guise of medicine profession in his shop for long. Acting on secret information a squad of DB police raided the medicine shop and recovered Yaba tablets and arrested the seller and buyer of Yaba. In this connection a case was lodged with the local PS.

A view exchange meeting of journalists with newly- joined Baraigram thana OC Md Shariyar Khan was held at Upazila Shangbadik Union Office of Bonpara under Baraigram upazila recently. This meeting was presided over by the Chairman of Baraigram Upazila Shangbadik Union Md Saifur Rahman. Principal of Bonpara Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Mahila Honours College Md Razzak Mollah was present as a special guest . It was also addressed among others by Bonpara Press Club Chairman SM Lutfor Rahman, General Secretary PKM Abdul Bari, journalists Bulbul Ahmed, Masud Rana and Abdus Salam. The chief guest and newly joined OC Md Shariyar Khan said that Journalists are conscientious men of society and newspapers are the mirrors of society.
World Cerebral Palsy Day Observed in Manikganj

 Disabled Rehabilitation and Reacher’s Association-DRRA with the assistance of CBM and Niketan the Netherlands formed a human chain and organised a rally to mark The World Cerebral Palsy Day 2016 at Dhaka-Aricha Highway under Shibalaya in Manikganj recently. The theme of the day is ‘I am here ….. We are here….’ Shibalaya Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer (Acting) Dr. Shah Alamgir led the rally where DRRA Programme Manager Nizam Uddin, Project Coordinators Akhlas Uddin and Dalima Rahman, APT Shahin Alam, Principal Mohammad Younus Ali were present. Disable people, Doctors, elite persons, and other took part in the rally and Human chain.  
Two including husband held for strangling housewife to death

Police on Wednesday arrested two people including husband for allegedly strangling housewife to death at Charkusuria under Hizla upazila of Barisal. The victim was identified as Nurunnahar Begum, 22, and the arrested two were Kabir Sardar, husband of the victim and Abdus Salam, his associate. Sub Inspector Md. Nasir of Hizla police station visiting the spot said Kabir was a fisherman and married Nurrunnahar 7 years ago. The couple have three children and went on sleep on Tuesday night. Kabir leaving the dead body of his wife at bedroom tried to hide himself in a crop field.

Neighbours becoming aware about the death of Nurrunnnahar suspected as strangled to death and found Kabir hiding in a crop field on Wednesday morning.
