Inter -school essay & spelling competition in Bauphal

An inter school essay & spelling competition was held at Upazila Parishad Auditorium in Bauphal of Patuakhali district on Monday. After that competition a notable prize giving ceremony has organised. Distressed Children & Infants International (DCI) & Rights and Sight for Children (RSC) have organized the ceremony . On that day Sun Child Sponsorship Program (SCSP), flagship program of DCI-RSC has handover the prizes to the 15 winners of these two competitions. More than 5000 students of 15 secondary schools of Bauphal, Patuakhali have participated in these two competition and step by step 15 competitors have won the crest, certificate and money as the prize. The program is sponsored by IPDC of Bangladesh Limited. UNO (Upazila Nirbahi Officer) of Bauphal Md. Abdullah Al Mahmud Jaman, Upazila Parishad Chairman Mohammad Mojibur Rahman, Office-in-charge (OC) of Bauphal Thana, Upazila Education Officer, all the govt. officers, all the Head teachers of 15 secondary schools and many distinguished guest have attend in this program. The Country Coordinator of DCI-BD and high officials of DCI-RSC have also attended the program. These two competitions have successfully completed by the heartfelt cooperation of the honorable UNO of Bauphal.
Youngman killed in Jessore

The body of a young man was recovered by Kesbahpur police from a water body at Pathorghata under Keshabpur upazila in Jessore on Monday evening. The dead was identified as Ataur Rahman, son of Babar Ali Sardar of Pathorghata of Panjia union council under Kehabpur upazila. Shafiqul Islam Mukul, chairman, Panjia union council told that the body was found from near a fish enclosure. But it is not known why he was killed by whom.
VGD Programme advocacy meeting held

Kishoreganj District Administration and Women Affairs Department jointly organised an advocacy meeting on VGD Programme held at local Collectorate confermece room on Tuesday. Deputy Commissioner Md. 2 held with 105 phensidyl bottles in Sirajganj

Police in a drive on Hatikumrul-Banpara highway arrested a driver and a helper of a bus along with 105 bottles of phensidyl syrup from Sattikri area of Salanga upazila on Tuesday noon. The arrestees were identified as Abdul Alim, 52, and Hero Miah, 25, driver and helper of the bus respectively. Rajibul Karim, Sub-inspector of Hatikumrul Highway Police Station, said the passenger bus of ‘SB Paribahan’ was going to Dhaka from Kushtia at noon.
When the bus reached Sattikri, a team of highway police intercepted it and carried out a search in it. Later, the law enforcers recovered 105 bottles of phensidyl syrup from the bus and arrested the driver and the helper. A case was filed with Salanga Police Station in this connection.
