Arrest of accused of journo Diponkor killing demanded

Bogra Press Club along with Bogra Union of Journalists formed a human chain demanding justice over journalist leader Diponkor Chakrabatti killing case at Bogra Sathmatha on Sunday. Famous journalist Diponkor Chakroborti was killed on 2nd October in 2004 on the way to home by the unidentified killers. Jahedue Rahman Jadu, president press club Bogra, Mahmudul Hasan Nayan, Secretary, Bogra Press Club, Amjad Hossain Mintu, president Bogra journalsi union, GM Rouf, Secretary, Bogra Journalist Union, Jim Kobir took part in the programme.
World Habitation Day observed in C’nawabganj

World habitation day was observed in Chapainawabganj on Monday. Chapainawabganj Public Works Department (PWD) arranged a colourful rally from the deputy commissioner’s office in the morning. After parading the main roads of the town the rally ended at the office of the Public Works Department. The rally was participated by the deputy commissioner of Chapainawabganj Md. Zahidul Islam, executive engineer of the Public Works Department Masud Rana, additional deputy commissioner (general) Toufiqul Islam, additional district magistrate Ershad Hossain Khan, sub-divissional engineers Rasedul Islam and Kamruzzaman, sub assistant engineers Slahuddin Parvej and Satyajit Roy.
National Productivity Day observed in Kishoreganj

Kishoreganj District Administration, BSIC, local Chamber of Commece and Women Chamber jointly arranged a colourfully rally, discussion, postering and cultural function marking the National Productivity Day on yesterday. A discussion on ‘Higher Productivity for sustainable growth in Bangladesh’ was held at local collectorate conference room that morning. Acting Deputy Commissioner Tarafder Md. Akhter Jamil attended as chief guest while Kishoreganj Chamber Senior Vice-President Sheikh Farid Ahamed in the chair. It was addressed among others by NDC Umma Fatema, CAB President Alam Sarowar Tito, MAK Ltd. Managing Director Azmal Khan, NASIB President Md. Alauddin, Women Chamber Vice-President Bilkis Begum, Tania Islam and Md. Reajul Islam of BSIC. A colourfull rally was brought out in the town marking the day.
Daring dacoity committed in Rampal

A daring dacoity was committed at Ronoshaen area in Ramapl Upazilla at 3 am on Friday . Police of Rampal PS and the victim of the family said, at 3 a.m. on Friday , cutting the the door , a group of robbers entered into the house of the Superintendent of Alhaj Sufia Begam Madrasha Md. Khalilur Rahman and tied him with the rope . After that, they looted 560 grains of gold , TK. 60,000. and three mobile phones. After taking the goods, they left the house. Being untied ,the super phoned the local people .The local people being present there arrested the robbers from Fayla Bazar .The arrested dacoits are Motasin Khan(60) son of Amir Ali Khan of North Chandpai of Mongla Upazilla , Abdul Kader (27) son of Abdul Khaleq Shaikh of Fayla Adarsha Gram ,Sumon Hossain (32) son of Late Sk. Abu Sufian and Md. Robiul Islam (30) son of Asadur Rahman of Kalia Village of Bagrehat Upazilla .
