20 passengers injured in road mishap

Twenty passengers were injured after speedy bus plying on Barguna-Dhaka route fall in accident about 11:00 AM Friday morning at the slope of Shahid Abdur Rob Serniabad Bridge over Kirtankhola River on Barisal-Kuakata Road. Shah Md. Awlad Hossain, Barisal Kotwali police station officer in charge, said driver of the bus (no. Dhaka-Metro-Ba-14-7862) lost his control over the vehicle at the slope of the bridge near Barisal University. Then the bus turned upside down injuring the passengers. Local people rushed to spot starting rescue operation sent the injured passengers to Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital. Dr. Kalian Mitra, medical officer at the emergency unit of SBMCH, said condition of the 19 injured passengers improving and one of them was in critical condition. Sub Inspector Shahidul Islam visiting the spot said Fire Service and police removing the ill fated vehicle resumed traffic on the road after one hour. However, driver and helpers of the bus managed to flee from the scene.

One killed, 10 injured in clash in Narail
Narail : A man was killed and 10 others were injured in a clash following a clash between two rival groups at Kharoria village under Kalia upazila of the district on Wednesday. Police said the clash took place in the morning between two rival groups over establishing supremacy in the area. During the clash, Ajgor Minar, 45, son of Eklas Minar of the same village was killed on the spot, while ten persons sustained injuries. The injured were sent to Narail and Khulna Medical College Hospital. Assistant superintendent of police (ASP) M Kamruzzaman confirmed the incident and said police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control, reports BSS.
