Runner Editor Mukul’s death anniv observed

The 18th death anniversary of RM Saiful Alam Mukul, slain editor of Jessore based Bangla daily Runner, was observed through different progammes on Tuesday. Several programmes including wearing black badges, placing wreath at the memorial, discussions and milad mahfil were chalked out marking the day by Jessore Press Club and Journalists Union of Jessore. Monotosh Basu, acting president, Jessore Press Club, Ekram-ud-Daullah, editor, Daily Kalyan, Fakir Shaukat, former president, Jessore Press Club, Mizanur Rahman Tota, former president, Noor Islam, Saifur Rahman Saif,Zahidul Kabir Milton, Tauhid Zaman, SM Sohel spoke in the discussions.
Rally against militancy, terrorism held

Kishoreganj District Bar Assocaition arranged a protest rally, procession and human chain in front of Collectorate building on Monday with a call for resisting militancy and creating awarness. Bar President Advocate Jalal Md. Gous presided over the programmes while it was addressed among othes by Ex. Bar President Adv Shah Azizul Hoque, Special P.P Advocate M.A Afzal, Senior Advocate Mozammel Hoque Khan Raton, Senior Adv Dholon Bhowmik and Bar Secretary Shahidul Alam. They said that militancy must be rooted out from the country with all strength fro protecting the existence of independent and sovereign of our beloved country. Bangladesh is a secular country and there is no room for militants.
