Janmeshtami, one of the religious festivals of the Hindu Cmmunity. Kishoreganj District Administration, Hindu Religion Kalyan Trust, Puja Uddjapan Committee, Kalibari, Ram Krinno Asrom and Sham Sunder Akhra jointly arranged discussion, procession, food distribution, Puja marking the day. Marking the birth of Lord Krishna on Thursday. Hindu religion Trust organised a discussion meeting held at Kishoreganj collectorate conference room on Thursday with Deputy Commissioner Md. Azimuddin Biswas in the chair. It was addressed among others by ADC (Gen) Tarafder Md. Akhter Jamil, Additional Police Super Md. Rakib Khan, District Awami League President Advocate Kamrul Ahsan Shajahan, Advocate Dolon Bhowmik, Trusty Lipu Roy, Senior Journalist Alam Sarowar Tito, Assistant Director of Hindu Religion Trust Sonjoy Paul and Madhab Gobinda Das. Puja Uddjapon arranged a discussion held at Kalibari premise in the town with its President Advocate Bijoy Shankor Roy in the chair. Deputy Commissioner Md. Azimuddin Biswas was attended as chief guest. ADC (Genl Tarafder Md. Akhter Jamil and Additional Police Super Md. Rakib Khan were attended as special guest. Hindu Community members were brought out processions in the town led by D.C Md. Azimuddin Biswas marking the day.
3 cops closed for negligence of duty

Three policemen have been closed for negligence of duty in Sylhet police lines on Wednesday. The closed policemen are Kamal Ahmed, assistant sub-inspector and two constables Samad Miah and Nasima Begum. Abdul Hye, officer-in-charge of the police station, said Ruhul Amin, an accused of a robbery case, fled the police station for their negligence of duty. Later, Habibur Rahman, sub-inspector of the police station, filed a case in this connection.
Workshop on autism held at Gafargaon

The consciousness workshop on autism and nervous debility among disabled youth was held at Gafargaon under Mymensingh recently. Upazila Youth Development Directorate has arranged this workshop at Upazila Shilpokola Academy Hall on Monday. .UNO Shiddhartha Shonkor Kundu presided over this workshop. Upazila Parishad Chairman Asraf Uddin Badal was the Chief Guest. The special guests were upazila Secondary Rducation Officer Belayet Hossain, Upazila Youth Development Officer Ejaj Meah, Joshora Union Parishad chairman Tariqul Islam Real were present in this workshop. Youth Development Credit Supervizer Aftab Uddin conducted this function .The speakers delivered their speeches to create awareness among the youth on otism and nervous debility respectively.
6 smugglers held with tiger skin in Khulna

Members of Detective Branch ( District DB) of Khulna arrested six smugglers along with one Tiger skin from Islampur area under Koyra police station in the district on Wednesday night. The arrestees are – Abul Kalam, 44, Sohrab Hosain, 42, Sheikh Abdur Rob, 61, Jalaluddin, 33, Masum Billah, 29 and Golam Robbani, 45. DB police said, a team of Khulna district DB raided at a house of village Chatkatala under Koyra upazila, arrested the six smugglers and seizes one Tiger skin, one home made pipe gun and three cartridges from their possessions. In the confession the arrested persons said to the police, they contacted a woman of Dhaka through a Hansel of 18 lakh Australian dollar. Being the representative of the woman, at first Sohrab came to Khulna.
30 dwelling houses eroded by Madhumati

More than 30 dwelling houses and a vast tracts of crop lands of village Paranpur within Barabaria Union under Chitalmari Upazila in Bagerhat district were eroded by the mighty river Madhumati within the last few days. As a result, the homeless people are passing there days in a deplorable condition. Many of them are now living either in the houses of others or in the open sky.
