The hanging body of a newly couple recovered from their bed room at Horikesh Modhdho para village near Kurigram town under Kurigram Pourashava of Sadar upazila at noon on Wednesday.
Local sources said Milon 25 son of Belal Hossain developed love affairs with Monisha Banu 18 daughter of Aiyub Ali of village Horikesh Maddakpara near Kurigram town. Consequently they married two months back. They committed suicide hanging with the same rope at noon. The family members called them several times but they received no response. Finding no alternative way they entered into the room breaking open the door and found they committed suicide.
Locals recovered and brought the bodies to Kurigram Sadar Hospital where the attending doctors declared them dead.Officer-in-charge of Kurigram Sadar Police station Mahfuzar Rahman told that no reasons could not be known immediately behind the suicide but it is suspected for family feud, he added. However the bodies were sent for post mortem examination. An unnatural death case was filed.
