Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Wednesday urged the newly promoted officials of his ministry to supplement the efforts of the present government to build an educated nation.
“We have attached priority to develop skilled workforce through providing better education to build knowledge-driven economy ,” he told a reception in the conference room of the Education Ministry here.
As many as newly promoted 35 officials of various ranks under the Education Ministry and its different organization s were accorded receptions at the ministry.
Education Secretary Md Nazrul Islam Khan, Additional Secretaries SS Mahmud, Swpan Kumar Sarkar, and Director General of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Prof Fahima Khatun, among others, addressed the function.
Nahid said a remarkable progress has been made in the expansion of education as the present government implemented various time-befitting and effective programmes in the past six years.
“Alongside expansion of education, now we are giving emphasis on improving the quality of education to build an economically advanced country,” he added.
The minister urged the officials to work with utmost sincerity and dedication to bring dynamism in all spheres of education sector to fulfil the goal.
