The newly -posted Police Superintendent Md Mahbubur Rahman who joined forenoon on Monday as SP here held a view exchange meeting with the members of Chandpur Press Club at his conference room in the afternoon on Monday.
Additional SP ( recently promoted as SP) Mizanur Rahman formally introduced him to the press.
Then the Press Club President Shahid Patwary along with others handed over a bouquet to him on behalf of the Press Club.
Speaking on the occasion, the new SP welcomed all the pressmen and sought full- co-operation of them in discharging his responsibilities properly in Chandpur. He called upon the reporters of Chandpur to uphold the truth and to be away from untruth. He desires, a good relationship should exist between the Police administration and the press to make Police administration pro-people and people- friendly. Police should also be press- friendly. His assured that he would try all out efforts to control drugs in Chandpur besides discharging his duties properly.
Press Club President Shahid Patwary, Secretary Laxman Chandra Sutradhor, Rahim Badhsa, GK Jiban, Shah Maksud, Kazi Shahadat , Iqbal Hossain Patwary among others spoke on the occasion.
Earlier at forenoon, he was presented bouquet by Chandpur DC Majedur Rahman Khan when he called on him at his office at the Collectorate Bhavan. Besides, ex MP Shamsul Huque Bhuiyan, BCL President Parvej Karim Babu, Chandpur Sadar and Faridganj Upazila Parishad Chairmen Nurul Islam Najim Dewan and Advocate Jahidul Islam Roman also handed over bouquets separately when they called on him at his office.
