Newly elected mayor of Chattogram City Corporation Bir Muktijoddha Rezaul Karim Chowdhury has started removing election posters from the streets. . He removed the posters with his own hands in the Bahaddarhat area around 11am yesterday . . Meanwhile, Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said, “I will be diligent to keep the city clean and tidy.” The CCC chief conservancy officer has been asked to remove the posters in a short possible time. .
At the same time, the newly-elected councilors have been asked to remove all posters from their respective ward areas between today and tomorrow. He sought the help of the people of the city to build a clean and green city.
Meanwhile, Administrator Khorshed Alam Sujan has directed to remove the posters and banners of the candidates hung on the occasion of CCC election. After that, the conservancy staffs of CCC started working to remove these banners and posters. Salman Khan Yasin, coordinator of the voluntary organization Vidyananda, told media that a two-days program is underway to collect the posters abandoned in the CCC election. 20 volunteers are on duty in two vehicles. I collected posters from different spots on Thursday . These posters are filtered at the Vidyananda store adjacent to the Maa O Shishu Hospital and those that are suitable for writing are being segregated. Work is underway to create a ‘writing book’ for poors, helpless children with these poster.
