Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique recently inaugurated the newly built post office building situated at administrative building on the campus.
Director General of Bangladesh Post Office Probas Chandra Saha, DU Treasurer Professor Dr Md Kamal Uddin and Additional Postmaster General of Metro Circle Md Farid Ahmed addressed the function as special guests, a DU press release said.
Deputy Postmaster General of Dhaka North City Corporation Al Mahbub presided over the function.
Paying homage to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and 30 lakh martyrs of liberation war, DU VC here said the postal code carries significant role in identifying our addresses.
He also thanked the postmaster of the university post office for serving the retired teachers of the university and called upon all to take the service from the post office.
However, Probas Chandra handed over a souvenir of postal stamp on martyred intellectuals.
