Abdul Qayoom Malikzad, the newly appointed Ambassador of Afghanistan to Bangladesh, on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam. Shahriar welcomed the Afghan envoy and assured him of providing all-out support to further enhance the bilateral relations between the two countries, an official release said.
During the meeting, they discussed the entire gamut of the bilateral relations built up on common history and traditional linkages of the people of the two countries.
The State Minister reiterated Bangladesh’s willingness to deepen bilateral ties with Afghanistan and its readiness to be a trusted development partner.
The Afghan envoy stressed further enhancing brotherly bilateral relations especially boosting the trade linkages.
He showed interest in importing quality products, including pharmaceuticals, ready-made garments (RMG) and other consumer goods, from Bangladesh to Afghanistan.
