A newborn was rescued from a dumpster in Ice Factory Road area under Chattogram’s Sadarghat Police Station on Monday morning.
The baby boy, who was admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH), is doing well, reports our Chattogram correspondent quoting police.
Fazlur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadarghat Police Station, said, “Hearing the baby’s cry, locals spotted it in a dumpster and informed police around 11:00am. Getting the information, a police team rushed to the spot and rescued the baby and took him to CCC Memon Maternity Hospital.”
After primary treatment, doctors referred the baby to CMCH for better treatment, the police official said.
Police were trying to identify who left the baby in the dumpster.
