Newborn found alive in city

A newborn was found near Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Monday morning.
The baby girl, aged only a day or two, was admitted at Dhaka Medical College Hospital after an airport cleaner found her, abandoned.
Jahura Akter said they were working when her colleague Rehana heard the sounds of a baby crying from a bush on the north side of the airport.
“She found the baby wrapped in a towel and we took her to Airport Police Station. With the help of police, the baby was rushed to DMCH,” she said.
DMCH Director Brig Gen Nazmul Haque said the baby’s weight is around two and a half kg and she is now in good condition. There was bleeding through her naval which doctors managed to stop.
