A new trust fund titled “Hossain Ali Sarker-Julekha Khatun Trust Fund” has been set up at Dhaka University (DU) on the 18th instant with an aim of providing financial assistance to poor and meritorious students of the university.
Sadia Rahman handed over a cheque for Tk. 10 lakh to DU Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin at a function held on the 18th instant at the Vice-Chancellor’s office on the campus to set up the trust fund, said a DU press release.
DU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique, Acting Registrar Md. Enamuzzaman and family members of donor Nasir Mahmud and Nurun Nahar Rahman were present on this occasion.
Out of the income of this donation, every year two poor and meritorious students of Biological Science Faculty and Pharmacy Faculty will be given scholarship, the release added.
