Chittagong Bureau :
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Shipping Ministry on
Thursday suggested the authorities concerned take necessary steps for
starting the construction work of a terminal in Chittagong seaport
and procure equipment for proper management of the port.
It also recommended naming the St. Martin’s station of the Bangladesh
Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) as St. Martin’s Landing
Station or St. Martin’s Offshore Landing Station.
The parliamentary watchdog came up with the suggestions at its 45th
meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad with its chairman Maj (Retd)
