The newly appointed Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Yasoja Gunasekera, on Sunday met Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister and the Sri Lankan High Commissioner and discussed various bilateral issues.
Referring to the remarkable progress by Bangladesh in shipbuilding and pharmaceutical industries, Foreign Minister put forth the prospects of export of pharmaceuticals from Bangladesh to Sri Lanka as well as cooperation in the shipbuilding industry.
The High Commissioner thanked the Foreign Minister for receiving her and stated that Sri Lanka attaches high importance to its relationship with Bangladesh. She expressed her resolve to work for further strengthening it during her tenure.
